In this new 5-week sermon series, we're looking into some basic, foundational truths of Christianity. Our first topic is the gospel. This sermon walks through some verses in the book of Romans (using "The Romans Road") to communicate how God offers forgiveness and eternal life.

From guest speaker Dan Johnson, an elder at Cornerstone. This sermon is a call for fathers to pass along the faith to their children, as seen in Isaiah 38:19. In this, we can all see a reminder of how God strengthens our faith as we follow the leaders God has put in our paths and as we seek to lead others.

This is a recap of the book of Hebrews, focusing on four major themes throughout the book.

From Hebrews 13:15-25. In this final section of Hebrews, we see more commands to obey, including the idea that we are to offer a continual sacrifice of praise through Jesus.

From Hebrews 13:1-14. Much like many other books of the New Testament, the book of Hebrews ends with a bunch of commands. We should obey them. But even in the midst of these commands, we see some wonderful reminders about how God is with us and will help us.

From Hebrews 12:18-29. This passage highlights an important difference between the way God spoke in the old covenant with the way he spoke in the new. Because he has spoken, we should listen. We should also be thankful and worship him.

From Hebrews 12:12-17. If we are to keep running the race God has marked out for us, there are some things we should do and some things we should. We should pursue holiness. We should avoid sin.
Note: this sermon addresses the topic of sexual immorality from Hebrews 12:16.

From Hebrews 12:4-11. We don't often like discipline. We may not see a need for it. But in this passage, we learn that God uses discipline in our lives for very good purposes.

From Hebrews 12:1-3. God has a race marked out for us. It will not be easy to keep going, but God will give us what we need. We are to run with perseverance, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.

From Hebrews 11:30-40. This is the conclusion of our walk through Hebrews 11, the "By Faith" chapter. In it, we see some great reminders of what it means to walk by faith and to trust that God will do what he says.
