Cornerstone Students | Marion, IL

Every year around the time of Easter we love to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, but despite enjoying the celebrations, many teenagers may wonder: "What is the point of all this?" or "Does this really matter to me right now?" One of the major misconceptions about our faith (for both teenagers and adults) is that it’s all about what happens after you die. In reality, Jesus wants to transform our lives in the present and in the future. And, His death and resurrection proves He has the power to do just that. That’s why, in this series, we’ll be looking at the lives of three people who knew Jesus personally and how their lives may have looked different after the resurrection of Jesus. As we do, we hope students will discover the same is true for them. Because of the resurrection, their life-after meeting Jesus (or their "afterlife") can begin to look different right here and right now.

Whether it’s the kid being bullied at school, the children in other countries without enough to eat, or someone in their neighborhood being judged by the color of their skin, chances are your students have all seen or experienced injustice in the world around them. And it’s probably caused them to stop and think, “Someone should do something about that!” Many of them are asking questions about why it’s happening, what they should do, and where God is in the midst of it? In this series, we’re going to try and answer them as we discover how much Jesus cares about injustice and how we can see something, say something, and do something in response.
