The apostle is trying to get the church of his day to focus on the most important things at hand. The word of God gives insight of the things to come that the world does not teach and only in the Bible is this known.

Life is so short with people running frantically through life to get all there is but the church needs to stay focused on the larger picture. We can prepare ourselves knowing something is coming.

The goal of the church is to connect with God. We need the power of God and the touch of God in our lives. I want to help you understand the valuable place our church altar holds in spiritual matters.

Jesus prayed that we would be kept from evil and sanctified through truth. Sanctification requires human involvement.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

When you see the word "therefore," you need to stop and see what it is there for.

We are not delivered from remembering or past failures but thru Jesus Christ our Lord something has happened in our lives. We are no longer condemned!

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever... Jesus told the disciples he was going to leave them. Being concerned about their state of heart and mind, he let them know he would send another comforter that would not leave them. The comforter is for us, too.

Jesus went to Bethany to raise Lazarus from the dead.

Jesus asked them to take away the stone. These words are speaking to everyone of us. Even though Jesus knew He was about to raise Lazarus from the dead he had something for the people to do first. He always requires our participation. He wants us to be involved with His work.

John loudly proclaimed Jesus Christ. He must increase and I must decrease.

Jesus Christ is the lamb God presented. He is the lamb that God chose. There is something special and different about Jesus if God can endorse him. We need to pay extra special attention since heaven is pointing out Jesus Christ.

It is important to God that we remember Calvary and what it is about. Remember God's love for the world even when we lived our lives without respect to God... when we were sinners.

It was because of God's love that God got involved in our lives.
