JC started his career in Mexico as McDonald's first employee in the country. His dreams of becoming the second Jacques Cousteau was put to a quick halt due to getting seasick and he made have become the biggest pivot ever. He shares his stories on starting his career, taking a step back, and also getting passed up for a promotion.

Throughout his career his wife, family, and coworkers gave him the support and push to keep going. He walks us through his relationships with his mentors and how they encouraged him. He also shares his mindset through each step and how he navigated his career.

Short week...short episode...sharing some insights to help you negotiate a job offer. It can be overwhelming, fun, and also a great way to improve your salary and benefits. The first offer is always the starting point and as a reminder only 4 in 10 people negotiate their offer and of those 8 in 10 get an improved offer.

Also, start planning now if you're considering a job switch, most people look for jobs in January with the majority of job offers extended in February, and March typically has the highest number of resignations. That aligns to bonuses and budget refreshes, so start prepping now if 2024 is your year for a new job or a new industry.
