Deciding to open your own business is a HUGE deal! The Latine community has over 5 million small businesses contributing $800 Billion to the American economy. During the pandemic, the Latine community opened more businesses and continued to grow despite the economic headwinds.

But...how do you start? Rogelio Lopez provides some excellent advice as to what you need to get started cause he just started in 2022 as well.

Build your network...specifically your advisory board. The people who will help you get set up and protect your business. Rogelio has been helping people build their businesses through his experiences

July Franco, a veteran, woman, Latina, mom, and trucker shares her experiences on how she was a Marine, rose through the ranks, and now started a trucking company with butterflies on the logo to inspire little girls and show that you can be anything.

How important is negotiating your salary? It’s really important and can impact your salaries for future jobs If we look at the Latine community, as a whole, we make $0.73 on the dollar compared to non-white workers, which according to McKinsey & Company adds up to $288 Billion as a total. Imagine the generational wealth we could build or the businesses we could start with that money. Latines are currently 17.3% of the work force but in the next 8 years that number will climb to over 22%.

So if you are in the 39% of people who DO negotiate your salary…good news, 89% of the time, you will see an increase in the counteroffer.
