On this episode of The Corporate Refugee Podcast, I interview Karen Moffitt, owner of Little Miss Moffitt Bakery. She shares her journey of being a single mother of 4, working in a demanding corporate job and having a passion and gift for making amazing baked goods. Writing letters to youngest son while he was at Marine Corps Bootcamp gave her the courage to leave her job and launch her business even though she thought she had no reason to be an entrepreneur. This is a story of sacrifice, passion, courage and cookies. A must listen!
In this first episode I share my story of why I wanted to leave a successful 13-year corporate career and become an entrepreneur. I worked really hard to grow a successful career, get promotions and increase my paycheck. However, working for someone else means you are not in charge of your paycheck no matter what. November 16th, 2017 I made the monumental decision to leave my corporate career and become the Corporate Refugee. I now teach women how to re-discover themselves and successfully transition out of their day job to be an entrepreneur. It's not easy, it's work...hard work, but it's the most rewarding work you can ever do. This episode sets the foundation for future shows where I will interview women who left their jobs voluntarily or involuntarily to be a support system for those women who want the same for their life. It will be real, raw and uncensored. We will talk about the hustle, tears, and personal pride of launching your own business.
