Deacon Justin Moor: Chances are each of us has had a time in our lives where we felt like we just weren’t good enough.

Father Jeremy Miller: Our whole disposition has to change when we come to grips with that reality that our life is not primarily about us. It’s about letting our lives be an instrument for God’s purposes.

Fr. Alan Zobler: We’re called to commit ourselves to be like the wise journeyers to Christ, brining our gifts — gold, frankincense and myrrh — giving selflessly, giving the very best of who we are and doing it tirelessly.

Father Jeremy Miller: Let’s strive in this year to recommit ourselves to our families to try and grow in the love that Jesus, Mary and Joseph shared, the love to become, not a perfect family, but a holy family.

Father Jeremy Miller: Whether you come here tonight as a shepherd or a magi, let’s all worship together the newborn king and ask that he might take possession of us in a deeper way this coming year.

Monsignor Michael Billian: In order for us to help keep the promise, we need to be more concerned with God’s plans and how our plans fit into them.

Deacon Justin Moor: The path to true joy begins with making room in the inn of our hearts to fully welcome Jesus.

Monsignor Michael Billian: Advent is a time for us to decide, are we going to respond to God’s plan in our lives, are we going to be active about responding?

Father Jeremy Miller: We look backward to his coming in history 2,000 years ago. We look forward in hope to his coming in majesty at an unknown hour, as Jesus says in the Gospel. But we can’t forget about his daily advent, in which he desires in all sorts of ways, to come into our hearts, to enter in our lives, in a new way.

Monsignor Michael Billian: What does the celebration of Christ the King mean? It really means everything. It means that there is a solution to the problems of the world. The feast calls us to be a part of the solution.
