Cosmopolitan has hit a new low with their latest article encouraging misoprostol-only abortions. What this truly means is horrifying, and I cannot comprehend how anyone — especially so-called doctors — can give women this kind of life threatening and scarring advice.

The article tells women that if mifepristone someday becomes illegal in America, they can take *just* misoprostol at home to perform an abortion, while dismissing it as nothing more than a heavy period.

But what misoprostol *actually* does is dilate the cervix and induce labor. It’s used in inductions & miscarriage treatment every day. Women are NOT being prepared for the reality that they will have to deliver their living baby at home in the bathroom, and then be told to flush their living baby down the toilet. 

This is not something that should be minimized or packaged as empowering advice. Propaganda like this is deeply dangerous, and it is more important than ever to speak up and say: This. Is. Not. Okay.
