This is the first episode of Counterfactual Puck, a look at hockey and alternate history that I'm adding to the Counterfactual Canuck feed.

This episode looks at the early history of the NHL, the National Hockey League, by examining how it arose out of the NHA, the National Hockey Association, and how much of this was due to one man, Eddie Livingstone - but not in a good way.

Canada and Big History: A Passage to Asia

For this episode, I step back from the counterfactual narrative of Canadian history to look at Big History and what could be called cosmic counterfactuals. After a brief overview of what Big History is, there are a couple of general, non-Canadian scenarios followed by a Canada-centered scenario around the idea of a Passage to Asia around or through North America.

I'd also like to post a correction here (that's also near the end of the episode). In Episode # 2 on Indigenous Nations & Civilizations, I mentioned the "Inuit people" a couple of times. This is repetitive as Inuit translates as "the people". I apologize for this mistake and will not make it again going forward.
