A number of state and national agriculture figureheads have appeared on Flow's Country Viewpoint program this week to discuss the celebrations planned for National Agriculture Day and a host of issues currently impacting the industry.



Among them is the Victoria Farmers Federation President, Emma Germano, who phoned-in to the Country Viewpoint program to vent her frustration at the current state of important regional and rural roads in her home state.



Germano observed that the current roads crisis in outback Australia is multi-faceted and more than just a major inconvenience to freight drivers.

Xavier Martin, the President of the NSW Farmers Association, appeared on the Country Viewpoint this week to discuss the celebrations planned for National Agriculture Day in his hometown on Friday.



Martin said it was important to recognise what the day is really about and the challenges involved for producers and growers in Australia right now.

Dom Leach is at the centre of his community in the Mallee region of north west Victoria.



Farming near the township of Walpeup, Leach informed discussed his background, the cocurricular responsibilities he enjoys taking up and the importance of family values and togetherness of farming communities.



Leach told listeners working on the land was something he believes he was always destined to do.

Dr Nicola Powell is a property expert and the Chief of Research and Economics at one of Australia's leading property marketplaces, the Domain Group.



Powell appeared on the Country Viewpoint program this week to inform listeners about the latest real estate trends in key areas of Flow's listener base, including the Barossa wine region and Yorke Peninsula area of South Australia.



Powell outlined why South Australia has been a significant state to monitor in a competitive market, with prices in regional parts of the festive state nudging record metrics.

After the release of the 2023 Murray–Darling Basin Plan implementation review last week, which found that 'the Australian Government’s recently proposed extension of the Basin Plan timeframes is necessary but won’t be enough', Commissioner Joanne Chong appeared on the Country Viewpoint to further dissect the findings of the report.

Chong highlighted the fact that numerous Basin communities were consulted by the team of authors collaborating on the review and that the overwhelming sentiment expressed was one of frustration.

A spate of warm weather has resulted in a large number of eastern brown snake sightings across many regional and remote areas in Australia throughout the past couple of months.



Flow's Morning Show host, Wayne Phillips, recently provided his own accounts of encountering eastern brown snakes on three occasions over the past three weeks at Flow FM broadcast sites.



Last month, Mildura-based snake catcher Terry Carstens appeared on the Country Viewpoint to issue a warning for listeners in the area about leaving loose rubbish and food scraps around properties, which attract mice - a staple of the eastern browns' diet.



With drier conditions forecasted for the upcoming summer, Murraylands snake catcher, David Dique, appeared on the program this week to offer his views on the current conditions regarding the danger of snakes appearing in public areas.

Personality coach, author, and public speaker, Kate Mason, is advocating for regional and rurally-based Aussies to have greater access to life coaching services.



After spending much of her professional career working alongside regional councils, Mason appeared on Flow's Country Viewpoint program this week to spread her message of support for Aussies in the bush in need of more face-to-face professional services.

Deputy Leader of the Opposition Sussan Ley appeared on Flow's Country Viewpoint program this week to discuss the latest water buybacks situation in relation to the government's stance on the Murray Darling Basin Plan.



Ley asserted on the program that the government was adding needless pressure on farmers who are already experiencing strong challenges due to dry conditions they are working under.

After being officially announced as the new President of the National Farmers Federation, David Jochinke appeared on the Flow airwaves to discuss the main topics he expects to be across during his presidency of Australian farming's peak body.



The Victorian producer, who hails from Murra Warra in western Victoria, an area situated inside Flow FM's listener network, has replaced Fiona Simson who served in the position for seven years.

As the countdown to Christmas continues, so does the anticipation of many Flow listeners based in South Australia's Mid North when it comes to the upcoming Eudunda Christmas Street Party, scheduled for the 1st of December.



Eudunda Street Party organising committee members, Jamie Ward and Courtney Schutz shared details about the event upon visiting the Flow studios in Roseworthy, South Australia, highlighting that above all things, they were most enthusiastic about the event being free for all attendees this year.
