    “She’s meeting up with both of the Ds. Delia, and then Duke” How on Earth have we gone FOUR months without posting an update on our future Emmy-nominated series centered around teen pregnancy? P is for procrastination, apparently. Welcome to the second installment of our Writers' Room saga. Last time we introduced youth our main and supporting characters and established how they're connected to one another. This week we wanted to take the time to create a rough timeline of season one with the help of a random setting generator, a list of television tropes, and a 7-page Google Doc.   • The Mist: Does Anyone Work At Spike? - Episode 106

    We're back with another round of self-induced torture.

     Netflix said, "Season two of The Society? You can't have it." Spike said, “Season two of The Mist? You can’t have it either.”  We LOVE when our spooky ooky mystery series get cancelled after one season. So many questions unanswered, so many plots unexplored. Guess we'll just have to browse the threads. This week we watched the short-lived adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist via Netflix, and it was a ride . . . through Maine in a military-grade Jeep. Bumpy, but not bad? Stay tuned for a talk on Old Navy costume design, outdated gender roles, and another Monty plot line that we just can't escape.

  • The Kissing Booth 2: Don't Listen To Any Of The Men In Your Life - Episode 104
    It's all pain and no main . . . plot that is. 
    This week we're back with a review of the highly-anticipated sequel fo The Kissing Booth, starring overly playful "platonic" besties and an impossibly high Dance Dance Mania step accuracy. Elle Evans is navigating her way through her final year at Los Angeles Country Day School while trying to maintain a long distance relationship with her Harvard man. Does she continue to abide by a list of rules that no longer serve her or take the advice of  dopey-smiled Noah Centineo lookalike? She's finally forced to make big decisions in love and life after high school, and we had a lot to say about. We endured two hours of montages and poorly fleshed-out subplots so you don't have to. Pull on your dancing shoes, and stick around for a discussion of suspected cheating, clingy marshmallows, and a disservice to the LGBT community's representation in film.

  • Ranking School Lunches: I Just Associate White With Vanilla - Episode 103
    "Burritos are not even pretty enough to be in KHLO-C-D." 
    This week we're giving all of our energy to the decidedly low-quality lunches we scarfed down in elementary / middle school. For the most part, we were both lunch box ladies, but Katie's brief introduction to steak fingers made this a necessary point of discussion. Ranking has made a comeback, minus the hideous garage echo of early quarantine and the Jonas™ scale. This time around, we're relying on another iconic set of celebrity siblings to guide us through this cafeteria chaos. Thank you Kardashian-Jenners for being of service.     This week, we're back with a new addition to our growing fanfic-to book- to screen adaptation review list. Katie's been pushing for a viewing of "The Kissing Booth" for well over a year, and we finally came to the agreement that it fits the brand. Do we have a new C&D Classic on our hands? TBD. With the warmer months slipping away, we felt that a quick trip to the Flynn mansion in Los Angeles was necessary. We've got Joey King living up to the best friend's brother stereotype, Jacob Elordi in desperate need of anger management, and Molly Ringwald as . . . Molly Ringwald? Simmer down and pucker up for a discussion of terribly toxic friendship dynamics, a potential Ivy League admissions scandal, and smooches from too many angles.

  • Thirteen Reasons Why Season 1: This Should've Been A Buzzfeed Listicle Not A Cassette Tape - Episode 100
    We finally hit triple digits baby!
    In honor of our 100th episode, we had no choice but to walk the halls of Liberty High School one last time. Thirteen Reasons Why is more than a guilty pleasure show. It's one of the few remaining C&D Classics (Thank You Miss Rona and Miss Netflix). This week we rewatched season 1 to see if our perspectives had changed for the often dramatic, sometimes problematic, live and in stereo queen herself. That's right, Hannah Baker welcome to your episode. We went through each culprit's tape and discussed their reactions to their wrongdoings and gave a final verdict on whether or not they deserved to be a part of Hannah's final collection of cassettes. We sympathize and criticize to form a worst - to ehhh list of the reasons that led Hannah to her demise.
