This is his second book, after his first, Chasing the Horizon, which documented his growing-up journey and his cracking the IITJEE, became a super-duper hit.

🚀 Courage Talks S9E5 Dr Jenny Hoffman 🚀
Harvard quantum physicist, mother of three, and the woman who shattered the women's world record for running across America!
In November 2023, Jenny ran 3,032 miles from San Francisco to New York City in an astonishing 47 days, 12 hours, and 35 minutes – beating the previous record by over a week and officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the fastest woman to cross the U.S. on foot.
She did it after heartbreaking setbacks: a devastating knee injury in 2019 (after 2,560 miles) and a hamstring tear that delayed her 2022 attempt. Through tears, fertiliser trucks, dust storms, 27 days of cornfields, lightning, hail, and just 6 hours of sleep a night, she kept going – fueled by childhood dreams, stubborn persistence, and an incredible all-women/nonbinary crew.
By day she's a leading researcher in quantum materials at Harvard (molecular beam epitaxy, scanning probe microscopy, major grants from NSF, Sloan, Moore Foundation).
In ultras, she's a 3× national 24-hour run champion who once dreamed of crossing the country under her own power... and finally made it real.
In this episode, we dive into:
Jenny's story is pure proof that audacious goals – in science, sport, or life – are worth the grind, the falls, and the comebacks.
Tag someone who needs this reminder: persistence beats talent when talent doesn't persist.
🌟Courage Talks S9E4 - Pratik Desai: From Spine Surgery & Cancer to Ironman Triumphs! 🌟
What does it take to turn "Wait & Watch" cancer mode into a relentless pursuit of life’s toughest challenges?
Meet Pratik Desai, the unbreakable spirit who transformed ego-driven half-marathons into full Ironmans, all while battling CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia) and a ruptured disc that required spine surgery.
In this raw, inspiring conversation, Pratik shares:How a 60+ gym buddy sparked his running obsession, leading to ultras like Comrades Marathon (finished strongly post-surgery!) and 4 full Ironmans (best: 12:52 hours).
Channelling negative energy from professional setbacks in Dubai into triathlons, with his wife joining for half-marathons and son Rivaan thriving in music & sports.
Navigating grief after his dad's passing in 2023, then crossing the Ironman Kazakhstan finish line just weeks later.
His mantra: "1 swim stroke, 1 pedal, 1 step at a time" – managing illness, family headwinds, and goals without hurting those who care.
Pratik’s journey reminds us: "Pain is temporary... If I quit, it shall last forever."
Tune in now to hear how he balances "live life fully" with pushing boundaries – a must-listen for anyone facing their own uphill battles! 🎙️
🚀 Courage Talks S9E3 is LIVE!
Meet Neil Goulsbra – the self-described “average” triathlete who turned doubt, heartbreak, and Dubai’s brutal 45°C summers into fuel for multiple Ironman finishes at 55+.
His story hits hard:
Beaten in school cross-country by the kid who smoked behind the bike sheds and never trained → a lifelong lesson in effort vs. “natural” talentCrawling across the 2016
Comrades Marathon finish line, overweight & broken → the wake-up call that launched a serious triathlon
First Ironman Hamburg 2021: 9 months of focused training, weight down to 77kg, smashing goals with a 10:38 finish and those immortal words: “Neil Goulsbra, YOU ARE AN IRONMAN” (still gives chills)
2022: Father’s passing + marriage breakdown → a year lost to Netflix and ice cream
Comeback 2024 Hamburg: 10:18 PB, fastest bike split ever (4:47!), despite a DNF scar from Warsaw 2023
Tallinn 2025: Best-executed race yet – nailed nutrition (hello Precision Fuel), held form in cold rain, highest full IM placing, still hungry for sub-10 and Kona qualification
Through it all: a no-BS coach (Luke), fierce support from the Ikonix crew, daily battles with portion control (he loves food!), hating the swim but getting faster, and using humour to survive (“this is a f$&king stupid way to spend a Sunday”).
Neil proves courage isn’t about being gifted – it’s about refusing to quit when life (and legs) scream stop.
If you’ve ever felt “too average” for big dreams, or wondered how to rebuild after rock bottom… this episode is for you.
Raw, funny, emotional, and relentlessly honest.
