HOLY COW. I can't believe I have the nerve to call myself a movie fan and it's taken me until now to watch 1974's classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This may or may not be related to the fact that I'm scared of it. What did I think? Was I able to sleep afterward? Who will survive and what will be left of them?

I watched Netflix's new "Edgar Allan Poe works as a detective" flick starring Christian Bale, Harry Melling, and a whoooole bunch of underused cool people. Was my inner English literature nerd satisfied by Melling's potrayal of Poe? Was my outer Christian Bale stan satisfied by his portrayal of a hardboiled tragic detective? Listen to find out more.

**EDIT** In this episode I mentioned that I was confused about Edgar Allan Poe's Southern-inflected accent choice as I was under the impression that he was closely associated with New England. In doing this I forgot to double check and research that Poe did indeed spend a great majority of his formative years in Virginia and thus the accent is likely accurate. I had a feeling I was wrong as soon as I said it but I am not technologically clever enough to edit my audio. I apologize! Harry Melling does a terrific job in the role.

I'm baaaack! And reviewing Darren Aronofsky's much-discussed new film "The Whale" starring the Internet's new best buddy forever, Brendan Fraser.  First things first, Brendan is the best and don't you forget it. I'm happy for him and I think he'll probably win the Oscar. Do I like the film? ....eh......

Did I finally get a chance to see the long awaited (by me!) sequel to Knives Out and did I still love Daniel Craig as gentleman detective Benoit Blanc? Yes. Is Rian Johnson a *little* obvious with his choices of villains? Also yes. Does any of this matter? Listen to find out more.
