As excitement builds for the 2026 WVU football season, Rich Rodriguez held the team's first intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, August 15. In this live show, Couz will talk about his takeaways from the scrimmage and fall camp overall up to this point.

Also discussed in the show will be an unexpected addition to the WVU secondary that could make a huge impact for 2026.

Finally, Brenen Lorient officially announced he'd be returning to WVU basketball for the 2026-27 season, pending the results of an ongoing court case that could grant him a fifth year of eligibility. Couz will talk about the importance of that to Ross Hodge and the Mountaineer squad for the upcoming season.

In this video, we’re taking a deep dive into one of the biggest "What Ifs" in WVU Football history. The Big East collapse changed the landscape of college football forever, but for the Mountaineers, the timing couldn't have been worse. We look at the elite talent, the BCS era dominance, and whether or not the shift to the Big 12 may have cost West Virginia a shot at a national title.

In this video, we discuss:

-The peak of WVU's Big East dominance and those legendary 2000s teams.

-How conference realignment disrupted program momentum.

-The long-term impact on the program's national standing today.

-What do you think? Was the Big East the missing piece for a WVU trophy, or was the move

to the Big 12 the right long-term play despite the struggles? Let’s talk about it in the

comments!

In today’s episode, we’re diving into roster developments that could reshape both WVU football and basketball for the 2026 season. All of it stems from possible legal battles. We break it down in this episode of Couz's Corner.

In this video:

Football Roster Shifts: We explore reports that Eddie Kelly Jr. is following Jordan Scruggs’ lead in seeking another year of eligibility through the courts. What would his 6'5", 290lb presence mean for the defensive line depth?

The Fred Perry Rumors: While there’s no official suit yet, the chatter is loud. Could the hard-hitting safety rejoin the Mountaineers and bring that "hard edge" back to the secondary?

Hoops Update: Ross Hodge recently updated the media on Javan Buchanan’s eligibility battle. We look at the projected roster and why Buchanan is such a vital piece for the frontcourt.

The "Lorient" Factor: Is Coach Hodge saving a roster spot for a familiar face? We discuss the potential for late-summer transfer portal moves.

West Virginia fans are no strangers to eligibility drama, but these cases could be the difference-maker for the upcoming seasons.

Let me know in the comments: Would you want to see these veterans return, or are you tired of the court cases? Who do you think is the most important piece for WVU right now?
