About Poet Suzanne W. Guinn: Suzanne Guinn began writing poetry at the encouragement of her high school

English teacher, Mrs. Agnus Smith. She has expressed herself through many styles of poetry and on a variety of

subjects. She loves the creativity that poetry brings. Having a musical background in her education, the writing of

poetry is a natural step in using words with their rhythmic ways. She also expresses her creativity in fine art

paintings, jewelry design and photography. She also has been a family history researcher since 1984. She is a wife,

mother of 4 and grandmother of 6. Though a native of New York State she has lived in the Midwest or South since

the age of 8. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music/piano (B.S., Southeastern Bible College, Birmingham, AL), a

graduate degree in Library Science (MLS, Emporia State, Emporia, KS) and later retired in 2014 after almost 30

years in her field. In 2022, she earned her Master’s degree in Fine Art (MA-FA, Academy of Art University, San

Francisco, CA). She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Westphalia Lion’s Club,

International. She has composed original music and has arranged several hymns. She is accomplished in fine art
