Joey and Steven, a couple of access-control compadres who do more than just swing open a panel. They are the folks who keep the powered gates of our little worlds moving safely and reliably.

Let’s set the scene: Most of us have waltzed in and out of more doors than we can count — front doors, office doors, screen doors, automatic doors you barely notice. But then there are the big, lumbering beasts most people call garage doors — the steel leviathans that can, if mishandled, bite you hard. And that’s where Joey and Steven come in. They’re not just tinkerers with torsion springs and remote clickers. They’re access control sentinels, guardians at the gate of the everyday, and more importantly, they know their job well enough to put a pesky reporter (me) in his place — keeping me a safe distance from the spinning cables, the whirring motors, and all the potentially dangerous bits of a powered overhead door.

Now, before you scoff — “Garage door installers?” — let’s be clear: that’s like calling Navy SEALs “swimmers.” These guys don’t just install and fix doors for JAS Overhead Doors & Openers; they’re the stewards of safe access. Thanks to the good girls @ Hooters, we were reminded that it was Abe Lincoln who could NOT tell a lie. And where better to get a history lesson than straight from the oral-fixated mouths of babes @ The Big H?!

They even disclosed that Apple Shots were on special in honor of the fact that poor Little Abe chopped down an apple tree and couldn't lie about it.
