Gin Carter worked for the Smithsonian Institution for 12 years as one of the only two people in the world using human fertility techniques to conserve our world’s coral reefs. Faced with the realization that all the science in the world won’t save the planet unless people start choosing to believe it and implement it she decided to leave science and instead start connecting with people more directly. She has now dedicated her life to helping people feel better as she believes that people can’t make better choices if they don’t feel good themselves. Gin has a Master’s degree in Biology and her scientific background informs everything she does. She also holds a 200 hour and 500 hour yoga teacher certification from Wisdom Flow Yoga on Maui.
In this episode, which largely focuses on tangible practices to help manage stress during this pandemic, we talk about:
:: why she left her career as a scientist
:: the ways in which yoga is a lifestyle rather than simply a physical practice
:: how meditation can be beneficial during this time and a few techniques she recommends for beginners
:: her philosophy on the concepts of manifestation as well as surrender
:: how she feels we can find peace in the storm by focusing on others
