The statewide test positivity rate dropped to an all-time low of 1.5%. The longtime goal of the Department of Health and Welfare is to keep the rate below 5%.
Only one county, Benewah, currently has a moderate transmission risk, while the other forty three counties are currently at low risk. More than half of Idaho’s counties have seven day moving average case rates of 3 or less per 100,000 people.
Hospitalizations and ICU admissions are also at the lowest point since June 2021. While officials have said more surges are possible in the future, especially with new variants, COVID-19 treatments are continually improving, which decreases death rates and hospitalizations.
