On Wednesday, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported 1,091 new cases and 8 deaths. That puts the statewide total at 152,364 known cases and 1,564 deaths.
As of this morning, 35,296 Idahoans have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 7,280 have recieved both doses.
Frontline workers like firefighters, police officers, teachers and school staff, day care workers and prison employees can apply for their COVID vaccine starting today. Health care facilities are taking appointments and you may be required to show proof of where you work.
Because of staff exposure to COVID-19, the Teton County courthouse will be closed to the public until January 19th, with the exception of court offices. Teton County was moved from high risk to critical status last Friday because of a surge of cases.
