CPXL

Everyone struggles with God’s judgement at some level. Sometimes there is a fear that it will  fall upon them. Other times, it is because we don’t see how judgement can fit in with a loving God. In this episode of CPXL, Pastor Andy talks about God’s judgment and how in the end, his judgement is ultimately a good thing.

In the book of Revelation, John describes a moment when Jesus appeared to him in a vision. Jesus is still revealing himself to people today, but oftentimes it looks different. In this episode of CPXL, Pastor Andy talks about how we see Jesus today, in our worship services, in scripture, in prayer, and in our testimonies.

Contending for the faith is done in word and deed. We must speak up and take steps to support the Gospel even when it isn’t popular. In this episode of CPXL, we discuss two major themes in the book of Jude: Protecting against false teachers in the church and a call to persevere.

As the body of believers who make up the Church, proclaiming the Good News isn’t about having an audience, but in the conduct of how we live and act in society. If we were no longer in our communities, would they miss us? If not, are we really living in a way that proclaims the Gospel to them? In this episode of CPXL, we look at how the church can reclaim what it truly means to proclaim the Gospel. Not just as individuals, but as the unified Body of Christ.

2 Peter 1:9-10

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

The Hall of Faith in Hebrews chapter 11 should inspire you in your faith walk. This isn’t a list of people for you to compare yourself to or put on a pedestal, because there are no great people in the Bible, only a great God. Let God do a work in you and let’s see what God does with the outcome of your faithfulness.

“Grace means you’re free to be honest. God won't reject you, He has already redeemed you.” - Tim Keller

In this episode of CPXL Pastors Eric and Andy discuss what it means that Jesus is our great high priest. But the conversation ends with a charge to look honestly at where you’re at, where Jesus is at, and to take one step in that direction.

📖 Hebrews 4:16

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

As Christians, we are never more like Jesus than when we forgive with the same grace that He forgave us. In this episode of CPXL we see a story of Sanctification. As Philemon must wrestle with Paul's letter to accept Onesimus not as a slave, but a brother in Christ. Forsaking his rights as a citizen and accepting the call to give grace in the Kingdom of God.

📖 Philemon 1:16-19

No longer as a bondservant but more than a bondservant, as a beloved brother—especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord. 17 So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me. 18 If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account. 19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it—to say nothing of your owing me even your own self.
