  • The Quickening
ALBANY, Ore.- I won't tell you too much about this intriguing 24-hour event taking place down road from Portland this Saturday because maybe YOU should not go. Judging from the video I "stole" from their website daggerattack.com, the Quickening is an underground cycling frenzy shrouded in dark mystery. I do know there will be hard rock bands, freaky bikes, and perhaps even blood sacrifice. Consider yourself warned.
So... if you are too scared of all that you can stick around stumptown and buy me a pint of Fat Tire at Tour de Fat, Saturday (video coming soon).

  • Mission Possible - Deepak's bike move
I received this note from a stranger in disguise
"Your mission, should you and your bike decide to accept it, is to help me move from my current apartment in Nob Hill to my new home in the Woodlawn Vortex."
Is it possible? Can it be done? Yes, and what's more, it was FUN!
We're movin' right along with Deepak, his "bikey" old friends and new, and the CrankMyChain! Battlestar*.
Organization of the bike move was made possible by SHIFT
Shout out to Magpie Messenger Collective

  • Bridge Pedal Jams!?
    Portland, Oregon
Tens of thousands of Portlanders and tourists showed up for the 11th Annual Providence Bridge Pedal today. After 20,000 cyclists and pedestrians jammed the bridges last year, organizers promised ten bridges without traffic jams.
"With the assistance of both the City of Portland and the Oregon Department of Transportation, we have revised the start locations as well as portions of the route to minimize the chance of traffic jams during the ride."
Join Dan Kaufman as he takes out the CrankMyChain! "Battlestar*" to find out the truth with live action video and interviews with participants.

  • Portland Police and Zoobombers Team Up for Music Video
Zoobomb is a weekly bike event in Portland. Zoobombers take the light rail to the Washington Park Zoo and "bomb" down through the Arlington Heights neighborhood on various types of bicycles - especially mini-bikes. Zoobombers also take on the daring descent of Hwy 26 (a freeway section where bicycles are allowed). After a bomber wiped-out on Hwy 26, aka Hellway, Portland Police felt the need to check up on these bicycling insurgents and here is some of the video they captured set to the Rebel's Original "Rock Rebel Rock".

  • Going on a Naked Bike Ride
Portland, Ore. --- Hundreds of cyclists going as bare as they dared swarmed the streets of Portland June 10 for the largest naked bike ride in North America. As many as 500 nude or nearly nude cyclists rode for two and a half hours circling downtown to the cheers and jeers of spectators, motorists, and passersby. This year also marked the debut of Portland's first daytime naked bike ride, which culminated in a group photo shot in the lovely Ladd's Addition rose garden. Warning: This video contains nudity.
