First Of Month 8. Roads Untraveled by Linkin Park.

Please donate if you download: https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/

Back at the start of the year when I was planning my First Of Month project, I planned to remix and release one of my favourite tracks by Linkin Park for August. Linkin Park has been one of the biggest inspiration to me and all of my music. Hybrid Theory, A Thousand Suns and Living Things being in my top favourite albums of all time. When I first heard the news about Chester Bennington’s passing, I was on the bus headed to my studio where I was planning to finish up my remix of their track, A Place For My Head. I gave it a lot of thought and halted my progress on remixing that track and decided to remix another one of my favourite tracks Roads Untraveled, which was the track I originally wanted to remix.

In August 2015, I had just finished 4 years of university studying music, working a full time job that didn’t allow me to fully commit to my music and struggling with a long haul of writers block. Near the end of August, I was woken up by my parents to the tragic news that my cousin had succumbed to his mental anguish. On that drive to be with my family, I remember melodies and song ideas coming to my head, having the urge to write/produce a song. I knew I wanted to write a song for him and push my music to be the best it could be, however I never felt my production was of quality at the time in order to do so. Throughout that week of being with all of my extended family, I had a lot of time to think. At that time, I made a promise to myself that I would commit to making others around me happy through my music, and to push myself to achieve my biggest musical goals. My cousin was big into Magic Cards, and some of his own cards were handed out to hold onto. I have two cards and had placed each one of them on both of my studio speakers ever since, in hope that he’s here helping me achieve my goals through my music. A short time after all of this is when I started working on one of my successful remixes of Who Wants To Rock by Flux Pavilion, which happened to help kick start my music career.

Today I release this remix of one of my all time favourite Linkin Park songs in honour of the inspiration Chester Bennington and the band have brought to me, my Cousin, Justin, and to everyone who has battled with any mental illness. I encourage you to donate to the Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

I remember first hearing the Kill Kill Kill EP preview (by Kill The Noise) in the first months of my first year in University. My best friend and I listened to that preview just about everyday up until the release date in November 2011 and there was by no means any disappointment with the EP. We fell in love with the EP and Talk To Me quickly became my favourite track off of it. I’m happy to finally have put together my own take on the song with some new haunting elements and sound design in which I had a lot of fun creating. Hope you all enjoy it! <3

I came across this track 'Give Me Back Tonight' and instantly fell in love with the vocals. I thought that this would be a great track to remix as a follow up to my 'Something More' remix in the same style. Enjoy!

Enjoy my take on an old classic, 'Bootleg Fireworks' by Dillon Francis! This is the second bootleg towards my year long remix project where I will be releasing a new Bootleg on the first day of every month. In doing this, I am remixing old tunes of Artists who i've been inspired by since I started my journey into music production.

I've decided to start 2017 off by releasing a brand new Bootleg that I put together of 'First Of The Year' by Skrillex. This is the start of a new year long project where I will be releasing a new Bootleg on the first day of every month (12 in Total). In doing this, I am remixing old tunes of Artists who i've been inspired by since I started this journey into music production. I thought starting with a remix of a Skrillex track would be fitting as he was one of the first artists who really got me into loving electronic music, as soon as I heard Scary Monsters. All that aside, enjoy my take on 'First Of The Year'!

Fixed Mix/Master on Jan 4th/2017.

I titled this song based after the last scene in one of my favourite movies, "Interstellar". I was obsessed with the concept of time being perceived as a physical property in a higher dimension. The term 'Tesseract' stood out to me, as it describes "a theoretical construct that exists beyond the three dimensions that we can perceive." Calling this track Tesseract, I thought fits the vibe with it's mysterious and haunting break melody that dramatically speeds up into a fast paced hybrid trap drop with some of the craziest sounds i've created to date. Enjoy!

‘Tesseract’ is featured on Circus Three, out now on Circus Records! Also Featuring music from Doctor P, FuntCase and DISKORD as well as a stellar cast of new faces.
