What if we do not have enough talent to actually become good at multiple things and end up as dilettantes? 

Overcoming this self-doubt is the topic of discussion in this episode.

Many of us stop before we even really start because of the insidious belief that we are too late. Other people have a significant head start over us.

Well, with the help of the book Range by David Epstein, I am learning to move away from this mentality and share why you might want to do the same. 

Epstein shows that in many fields, being a specialist might give you a head start but generalists have significant advantages that make them catch up with and perhaps even surpass specialists in the long run. 

This runs contrary to conventional wisdom which is always pushing us to pick a direction very early in life and stick to it.

It all boils down to supreme organisation. A boring word, a concept we like to avoid. Just like the word discipline, it makes us think of self-denial. Yet if we reframe it and create the right systems, we can become disciplined without too much pain and use discipline and organisation to accomplish for the ultimate self-gift: accomplishing everything we hoped to accomplish!
