Perseverance is about not giving up and pursuing to achieve what you know will make the world a better place. Behind every action is a thought, and behind every idea is a seed.  We can change what we are growing by changing the seeds we plant.  Over the following few podcasts, I will discuss how planting specific seeds can help you create the generational love cycle that you and your loved ones deserve.  There was a time when I didn't want to bring children into the world due to the violence I saw and heard.  But then, one day, I realized I could raise children who could make a positive difference in the world.  We can interweave our experiences, gifts, and talents into a legacy worth fighting for.  In this fight, we disperse anger, anxiety, fear, guilt, self-doubt, resentment, shame, and like-minded emotions by using our energy for the greater good.  We can become doers of the word and help our children become the same because whatever we teach, we become.

Assessing our beliefs about love is critical to breaking the cycle of pain and creating a generational love cycle.  Love sees the light in all beings and serves to ignite purpose and reunite all.  Love sees beyond the experiences, titles, and opinions of others. Love sees the truth because love is truth.  May your Valentine's Day be one of many days you embody, nourish, and express the love you have within you and to others.

Do you give the same advice you give to your best friend? If your best friend said she was dirty, stupid, and unworthy, what would you tell her and why? Would you affirm his thoughts if your male best friend voiced the same descriptions?   The love we feel and express comes from the inside first.  How can you become your best friend? For one, you can choose to love yourself no matter your experiences. You choose your consistent thoughts and spoken words.  You believe you deserve respect. You speak your truth and feel obligated to do so.  You are patient with yourself and realize growth is a process. You teach others by example how you want them to treat you and are consistent as much as possible. You challenge harmful words with the truth. You realize that you are a magnificent creation, and nothing can change that.

Healing from the inside involves seeing opportunities instead of challenges.  For example, a scary dream is an opportunity to assess your fears.  Episodes of anger are opportunities to assess other unhealed wounds.  Just because you feel something doesn't mean you have to become it.  No one takes your curiosity, desire to live and fulfill your purpose, and joy away unless you choose to.   

You have the power to make this lifetime great. But, so often, our life changes after our thoughts about life change.  Emotions are feelings, and you choose how you want to use them. You have the right to heal, set boundaries, and experience freedom during the holidays.  We cannot change the past, but we can change how we interpret the past.

The color of our skin wasn't meant to be a distraction but to be a part of our evolution of spiritual beings in earthly form.  The personality and spirit are to become one, not to see division but unity, serving one another with compassion, grace, love, mercy, truth, and understanding.  Just like the many colors on the earth, human color adds vitality and strength.  Seeing our Creator in different forms should strengthen our bond with Him instead of adding divisiveness.    Whatever we teach in the home becomes evident in the world.  Being a parent is an opportunity to promote unity, but first, we must seek within and assess our beliefs.  We must ask what grounds does division stand on and how stable is this foundation.  In other words, what truths support division?  What truths support unity? 

Then, we honor the truths within us and share them with future generations.

Quality communication is vital to any relationship.  I believe many of today's problems can be solved by listening more than speaking.  So often, people want to feel valued.  People, from the youngest to the oldest, want to feel that their thoughts matter.  We can teach our children and ourselves to open our hearts and minds and the spiritual door to be and do what the moment needs.  But, of course, the best way to teach a concept that the world needs more of is to emulate it at home.

Fulfill Your Divine Purpose

Life presents us with different situations to express our true selves.  We must be careful in not harboring ill will towards another or remembering past behaviors. Instead, we unclothe our experiences and take what resonates with the truth inside ourselves.  Just because someone acted a certain way is never an excuse to repeat the behavior.  And minor renditions of conduct are the same behavior. 

 Instead of saying I am not as bad as the other person, consider replacing the phrase with I choose to align with the truth in me.  Your spirit knows even if you are unsure of what this truth is.
