We live in a world that's chaotic, self-centered, and need to the extent of self-gratification. How can you live by faith over fear?

We do it in our marriage. We do it in our churches. We do it in our professional associations. We do it in our school. Everyone is watching out for #1!!!

We are essentially working and driving our life from FEAR; fear of rejection, fear of missing out, fear of conflict, fear of change, fear of success, fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, fear of not be loved. FEAR!

Now fear is real and something we need to protect ourselves from danger, pain, and evil. A lot of us are operating our lives out of fear. And I was to in my life.

Here I thought I was fulfilling my faith requirements: being a devoted wife, raising my children even homeschooling them, working within the church, tithing, giving of my time and talents, volunteering in the community. Actually, I was doing it out of fear --- fear of judgement.

I thought I was doing everything right. It took a storm to shut me down. "These are not the plans I have for you," whispered God.

Living a life in faith is being God-centered.

"Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." ~ Hebrews 11:1

And yes, my life was God-centered, but on my terms. We can't place conditions on God.

Are you placing conditions on God? Are you praying and asking for something (miracle, health, finances, healing, marriage, etc.), but it has to be wrapped a certain way?

God's got you right where you're at. What He asks of you is not to worry about tomorrow today. (Matthew 6:34) God will give you what you need when you walk by faith.

"You are the CEO of your heart!"

You have a choice. You can live your life making decisions and focusing on your ideals out of earthly fears. Or you can choose to surrender to God's heavenly designed plan for you and walk by faith.

Which do you choose?

Since I've been on both side, I can truly say I choose faith over fear, even though I will still feel fear.

Sitting watching the minutes pass by, endings are new beginnings. There's no reason to have your heart captivated by what's of the past. Look forward to what's ahead.

Remember the road trip and the anticipation you felt excited for what's to come? This is the anticipation you want in your life on a daily basis.

But what tends to occur is the drowning of our thoughts in things we didn't get right, what we didn't accomplish.

Have you ever had the thought that ... "I have everything I need to be happy, but I feel so empty. I have no purpose. I feel like I'm suffocating on the inside. But no one knows."

Sometimes life gets in the way of our heart's dreams. The ones that make us feel alive and driven to keep going even when times are tough.

What about the goal you recently accomplished. How did you feel when you reach it at that moment? And then what about 2 days later?

It's like the wind gets knock out of your sails. So what's next?

I personally hit this when we decided not to have any more children. It took many months to realize that me not having any more babies did not rob me of being a mother. In fact, the opportunity to become an impactful mother grew even more. I have been able to appreciate all the stages with my children. I have been able to experience life with them.

Endings are new beginnings.

Maybe you are being challenged in your life. You have a chapter closing and you don't know exactly what the next day will bring. This is just one chapter in your life. There's another yet to be written. It may look a little different. It may feel a little different. You might discover something your heart never considered.

One thing I learned at a very young age was if asked a question by an adult, I was to respond and look them straight in the eyes. But today, that's not what happens. Don't ask me a question you don't want answered.

We are so quick to shut the other person up by our own words. Frankly, it's rude and disrespectful. I don't like it when I do it.

How many time are we stuffing our own thoughts down the throats of others?

We are expecting certain words or statements to come out of their mouth. But instead of waiting to hear what they have to say, we interrupt and interject our own words.

If we are answering our own questions we're asking, then maybe you're in a monologue - a one way street. Instead of listening only to yourself, why not listen to what others say and have a dialogue - a two way street discussion. 

Plus, if you are quick to step on words, are you really interested in what they have to say?

Don't ask me a question you don't want answered.

How do you want your conversations to be? Do you want to be the one controlling the conversation? If so, then just make statements.

How are you conversing with your husband? Your children? Your corporation/business?

1. VALUE who they are by listening.
2. AFFIRM them by repeating/paraphrasing what was said.
3. HUG them with your words. Encourage them.

Are you practicing who you want to be? In order to grow and extend your impact, you must lead by example.

Maybe you don't feel like a rockstar right now, but you can't let that stop you. What's your next step? Lead by example.

This is such a fundamental tool we all can use. Lead by example.

Sometimes those thoughts of self doubt, I'm not good enough, get in the way of practicing. And if you don't practice, how will you ever get to where you want to go? You might eventually --- but it'll probably take longer.

Plus, your oopsies and mistakes are God's blessings directing your path. So why not continue on His journey and lead by example so the twists and turns that are going to come anyway can benefit you in the long run. It could even create a shortcut. 

It would be nice to take a shortcut or two! Lead by example.

You are training for life. And when you train, you practice. Practice breeds progress.

It's unfortunate that most will choose not to lead. Instead, they'll sit back, listen to the naysayers, and continually contemplate what they should do next.

And what to do next is lead by example. Show yourself that you are dedicated to making the impact. How can you ask your family to do something if you're not willing to do it yourself. Lead by example.

Don't be fearful to lead by example. The difference between fear and courage is the next step. So lead by example.

It's that time of year when the air is getting crisper. The leaves are changing to brilliant colors. Your new season to make an impact of your healthy living goals is here! Take it up a notch.

You probably have been working to really have a healthy body especially during summer. But now you are dragging.

Some of those reasons come from the shift of your schedule and the sun. Daylight is becoming limited and that drives us to not want to (or feel like) do as much. We are already beginning to hibernate. 

If you are wanting to keep away that extra hibernation comfort fat, it's time to take it up a notch.

And you start with your fitness! Change up what you are doing. 

FOR ALL EXERCISES (even the ones you are currently performing): Be sure you are always keeping your shoulders back and down. Knees soft (no locking the knees). Core engaged (abdominals and glutes tight). Tuck under at your hip to protect your back.

RUNNER: Incorporate some weight training into your routine. You can add these simple exercises to the end of your run. 

• Walking lunges - Keep your feet spread wide performing a deeper lunge, never allowing your knee to go over your foot.
• Squat with overhead press - Do a squat and at standing, press your hands & arms over your head. You do not need weights to do this.

STRENGTH TRAINING: Maybe you enjoy weight training, but don't really like cardio. Take it up a notch by...

• Walking daily - Start at 20 minutes everyday and increase it to 1 hour a day. And that includes non-strength training days.
• Alternate running and walking - Run for 10 minutes, walk for 10 minutes. You can slowly increase your time where you are running only, with a walk for a cool down. Please only run every other day. Walking can be done on a daily basis.

BEGINNING: You might be grumbling at me because you want to be healthier, but it hasn't been a priority. That's ok. Start today. Take A.I.M. (action ignites motivation). Perform each exercise for 1 minute each (rest when you need to during that minutes), then repeat the entire SET of exercises. Do this 4-6 times depending on your time available.

• Planks (wall/floor)
• Leg Kickbacks - Focus on tightening of the glutes. This is not a large movement. Very isolated movement.
• Squats - Do NOT do these if you have knee problems!!! Knee should not go over your knee.
• Hip Thrusters - Lay down on your back. Raise your glutes in the air, pushing your hips upward toward the ceiling. Squeeze your glutes while keeping your core, shoulders and back in proper form.
• Jumping jacks - You can use walking jacks if you have knee issues.

FYI....You walk about 2,000 steps per mile (depending on your stride). So in order to walk 10,000 steps, you would be walking 5 miles. If you desire to be at your optimum health level, you need to be intentionally moving for 10,000 steps above what you normally move.

You can  continue to shape your body when you take it up a notch. If you want to get a different result, you must take it up a notch.

What was the last sentence you spoke regarding your dreams for your life? Was it positive with a confident and faith-filled declaration? Or was it negative with hesitation and an anxious tone? Say it isn't so.

Ponder this: God created the heavens and the earth. He didn't just believe. He didn't just hope. He just didn't think there would be light. He spoke it, "Let there be light." (Genesis 1:4) He saw it was good. And He continued as the days passed speaking what He desired - His creation; the land, the oceans, the animals, and man who He created in His image. His words set His creation into motion. It wasn't His thoughts and dreams within Him. But what became He spoke.

WORDS HAVE POWER!

If you want your dreams to become a reality, how are you speaking or are you?

Please say it isn't so.

You must be speaking words with faith-filled, heart-wrenching, undeniable confidence. When you speak, things begin to happen. Things begin to shift.

If you choose to speak only pessimistic, condescending, questionable words or statements, (please say it isn't so), then you are holding yourself back from greatness.

"Even if you face fear, you must speak in faith!"

You are created on purpose, for a purpose. God has a bigger plan. And maybe you've already had a glimpse of that dream, even tasted a little bit of it. Or maybe you haven't. Maybe you're more fearful of what to say because of what might NOT happen. Say it isn't so.

Thoughts can jumble our inner intentions, causing confusion, fear, hope, and confidence. What's going to put you into motion and build momentum you desire to reach your dreams?

Negative words? Say it isn't so.

Instead --- Stand boldly with faith and love knowing that all things work together for those who love the Lord. (Romans 8:28)

How many times do you stop long enough to ponder am I enough just as I am?

Everyday, we are fulfilling the needs of our family, friends, neighbors, boss; the list goes on and on.

There are so many rules we are running our lives by: the rules of the land, the rules of the government, the rules of a woman, the rules of an entrepreneur, etc. There is that part in us that forces us to conform to what is expected of us, fitting into a set box.

What would happen if you looked beyond the "earthly" box and look to the Heavenly box, the dreams God designed for you?

"Dream bigger the way God sees you!"

Don't just dream your earthly dreams. God has something incredible planned for your life. He is orchestrating every detail.

If you are wanting to amplify your life, elevate where you are, you must raise your standards.

Many times over, you find yourself in situations that corner you. The quick fix is to get out fast --- lower your standards.

But how has lowering your standards served you? How has it helped you become an incredible woman of impact. How has it helped you build your business? And how has it deepened your love for your husband?

Lowering our standards is a way to feel good in circumstances that makes us restless and become unsettled. It's the easy way out.

Humans want to feel good; we want to feel happy! If you want to break it down --- we lower our standards as a defense mechanism, protecting what we know to be safe and secure. It's the comfort zone - belonging to something instead of being ostracized.

Just because your emotional state is calm and peaceful, doesn't mean you are pursuing your best selfie. If you want to amplify your life, you must raise your standards.

"You must stretch yourself! Give yourself permission to grow, to by comfortably uncomfortable!"

Working towards everyone else's standards will only lead you to regret. You control YOU. You DECIDE who you want to be. You COMMIT to be your best selfie. You take A.I.M. on what you want to CHANGE!

The one thing you don't want to hear from your child is the tone of giving up while saying, "School is hard!"

This was my youngest's proclamation this morning as we waited for the bus. And he concluded it with, "I want a job."

Perception is everything. There are days I wish I was back in school, and other days longing for a traditional job. But here we sit, living out the consequences of our choices.

As my baby (a 6th grader) boarded the bus, I encouraged him to keep looking for the surprises. What he doesn't know. The gems of knowledge that will add to his baskets of inspiration. He had the look of --- What are you talking about? But understood the importance of pushing on, moving forward, and growing in experiences. LEARN!

School is hard. and when we stand on the other side, it always appears brights, better and more beneficial.

What you are wanting might be something totally different than what you actually receive.Yet you might be chasing what somebody else has.
