Welcome to the first episode of the Photographer Mindset Podcast, a series that will explore the attitudes, disciplines, and winning mindsets already utilized and developed by well acclaimed photographers in the Instagram community. Episodes will focus on building and maintaining the proper mental fortitude so that we can grow our audience, improve our headspace, and reach new levels of achievement as photographers.

In the first episode I sit down with Bret Blakely, a landscape and nature photographer based out of Buffalo, New York. Bret has only been shooting seriously for the last two years and in that time has skyrocketed his online growth, accumulating nearly 20,000 followers on Instagram. Aside from being an incredible talent and quick learner, Bret is also very entrepreneurial. His company Oncore Golf, (founded 7 years ago) that sells golf balls online, has become a huge success providing Bret with the income and ability to travel the world and pursue his passion for photography.

In this episode we talk about creating our own version of success as photographers and how that may be different for everyone. We also dive into how to find motivation during times of despair or when our backs feel as if they're against the wall. Lastly, we talk about the importance of surrounding yourself with likeminded individuals and ones who share the same passions as us.
