    Canadian born Natalie is an actress, author and spiritual teacher. She's performed and taught all over the world on stage and screen and has appeared on Blindspot, The Affair, Law and Order: SVU, The Detour, Power, The Following, Being Erica, Murdoch Mysteries and in two films directed by award-winning director Sidney Furie. She authored her first book: "30 Years, 30 Lessons" several years ago and has since collaborated on The "I'mPossible Project" and the upcoming CREATE Book: “Let's Play!” She's also a 500 hour certified Yoga Teacher and a meditation teacher specializing in Visualization technique, positive psychology for actors, the Yoga Sutras and taking ancient Eastern philosophy and practices and playing them into the audition room and onto set.     Massachussetts born Greg Webster joins me for the 51st episode of The Creation Grounds. In this episode Greg discusses how he got into movement and the body and how it helps actors. The difference between a human doing and human being, Jacques Lecoq and his pedagogy, Wim Hof and breathing, nutrition and health, can actors have success and not live in the major markets?     Greg serves as the Artistic Director of Split Knuckle Theater Company and is also one of the company's founding members. Greg has worked as a performer, teacher, and choreographer from Broadway to the West End and has worked extensively in regional theaters throughout the United States as well as internationally. He is Professor of Movement Theater at the professional actor training program at University of Connecticut and is responsible for teaching the pedagogy of the French theater master Jacques Lecoq. He is also the resident movement coach and fight Choreographer for the Connecticut Repertory Theater. Previous to his appointment at UCONN, he was an instructor at the London International School of Performing Arts, of which he was also a graduate. He holds a B.A. in theater from Columbia College of Chicago and an M.F.A. in acting from the University of Missouri Kansas City. Among Greg's other interests, he is an accomplished Martial artist, Authentic Pilates instructor, Gyrotonic ® teacher and Personal trainer. He holds a black belt in Aikido and is a former Golden Gloves boxer.

    Alabama born Woodie King Jr. is an award winning theater director, producer, writer and all around multi-hyphenate. Earlier this year we lost Douglas Turner Ward who founded the historic and internationally known Negro Ensemble Company. (The Negro Ensembe Company has a whole wall dedicated to it's impact and legacy in the African American Mueseum in Washington D.C). In this episode Woodie discusses and honors Doug's legacy and impact. He shares stories about Doug and also shares about how New Federal was founded. He discusses some challenges that black theatre faces and what some potential solutions are.

    In 1970, King founded the New Federal Theatre and the National Black Touring Circuit in New York City, where he remained as producing director throughout his career. King produced shows both on and off Broadway, and directed performances across the country in venues such as the New York Shakespeare Festival; the Cleveland Playhouse; Center Stage of Baltimore; and the Pittsburgh Public Theatre. King's work earned him numerous nominations and awards over the years, including a 1988 NAACP Image Award for his direction of Checkmates, and 1993 Audelco Awards for Best Director and Best Play for his production of Robert Johnson: Trick The Devil; he also received an Obie Award for Sustained Achievement. King was awarded an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Wayne State University, and a doctorate of fine arts from the College of Wooster.

    In addition to his directing and producing of theater, King wrote extensively about the theater industry; he contributed to numerous magazines, such as Black World, Variety, and The Tulane Drama Review, as well as authoring a number of books.

    Chicago native actress, poet, writer/playwright Nambi E Kelley joins me for the 49th episode of The Creation Grounds.     Nambi is currently working on an exciting project that is in talks to potentially be Broadway bound. She served as a writer for season 3 of Showtime's "The Chi" and Her adaptation of Richard Wright's "Native Son" (Sam French, Concord Theatricals) premiered in New York, produced by The Acting Company at The Duke on 42nd Street, July 2019. The world premiere of Native Son was presented to critical acclaim at Court Theatre, and received nominations for 5 Jeff Awards including best adaptation and production of the year, and was the highest grossing production in Court Theatre's 65 year history.

    Nambi has performed across the country including at the Goodman and Steppenwolf Theatre, and has been seen in numerous TV spots including: Elementary, Person of Interest, Madam Secretary, Chicago PD, Chicago Justice and has toured internationally.
