This past week was my first foray into the world of hiring a sex-worker.

As someone who makes sense of the human condition through documentation I thought there might be some valuable takeaways sharing the experience and the thought process behind it.

When we’re young we have all these goals and things we want to accomplish by 30.

I know I did.

But what happens if we don’t achieve them by then?

You just roll those goals over into the next 10 years! 

Problem solved.

When I was 20 I was trying to be a rapper…and in a few weeks I’ll be 30…and still trying to be a rapper.

The good news is I’ve learned a lot over the last decade, and in this episode I’m going to come drop some of the biggest gems I picked up on during my 20s.

Life took me from NYC, to Philly, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, and to hell and back over the last 10 years.

Through a lot of bullsh*t jobs, heartbreak, high points, hundreds of songs and adventures these are some of the biggest gems I've picked up on over the last 10 years. 

Here's to a new decade 🙏

1- it’s OK to change your mind. In fact you should. When was the last time you questioned what you believe and why? Is it serving you?

2- there’s a fine line between sacrifice and missing out on life.

3- the brain you create reflects the life you lead. Awareness is more important than intellect. You experience what you understand is available.

4- don’t throw away an entire person because you don’t agree with them. Not everyone will agree with you. That’s alright. most people in the world are inherently good. you don’t know what people are going through.

5- Ask for help. Quiet confidence. Listening is more important than mansplaining.

6- relationships take time, be intentional with your energy

7- people aren’t permanent. 

8- we are the source of most of our own suffering. We suffer more in our imagination than in reality.

9- if you want something to happen you have to make it happen. Control what you can control. 

10- keep it simple. How do you like to spend your time? Find a way to make that happen

11- nobody cares...in a good way.

12- you can be whatever you want to be.

13- give it time. 

14- your reality is guided by perception, beliefs, and environment. Memories aren’t real.

15- life is hard. but these tragic moments are what make it universal. feeling sad is a part of the game.

16- feelings aren’t facts. Happiness is fleeting. It’s a byproduct of purpose. so focus on the purpose and hopefully you’ll encounter happiness more often.

17- talking shit is rarely helpful. Be happy for other people.

18- the shadow is directly proportional to the dream.

19- he that has a why to live for can bear with almost any HOW.

20- measure life by how much fun you’re having.
