I talk about how having an embodied experience of interconnectedness and of the future can make building the future possible, and how love and relating changes based on an understanding of interconnectedness. It gets weird!

The third in a series of episodes about the move from the old way and the new way of loving, this episode focuses on the transition itself- the in-between space, where we're building the skills for the new way and unlearning the old way. 

We talk about how the skills of loving in this way are also skills that are helpful in navigating this confusing and unstable time more broadly. Using tarot cards, we talk through not letting brain fears run our lives, and how to build the world we want moment by moment.

I want to fully understand what we were interested in exploring through the old way of loving— its gifts and its shadows— so that we can choose what we want to take with us into the new way, and what we want to be finished with and learn to do differently.

Continuing a series on desire, in this episode I talk about why working with desire is an important skill for the new way of loving, and how to move from working with desire internally to expressing it out in the world. The journey that working with desire can take you on is one where you start with being in love with something specific, get curious about where your desire comes from and how it relates to reality, and end up in love with the movement of reality itself.

A crucial skill for moving into a new way of loving is being comfortable with other people not understanding you or being on the same page. The old way of loving needed everyone to be doing the same things, and used resentment and shame to push everyone in the same direction. In the new way, we know that what works for one person doesn’t need to work for anyone else. We’re learning how to celebrate what works for other people without needing to conform or show up in ways that are inauthentic.
