    I am so excited to share my conversation with friend and mentor, Bea Sprouse! Bea is an author and educator whose faith and wisdom are truly an inspiration. She recently released her book “Life in the Faith Lane: Overcoming the Traditions of Men,” which I couldn’t put down! Bea shares so many nuggets of wisdom throughout our conversation today. We talk about what it means to live our lives walking by faith, how to move from head knowledge to heart knowledge, understanding our true identity, and more!

    Bea’s stories of stepping out in faith, experiencing miraculous healing, and witnessing the provision of God time and time again are incredible and a treat that you won’t want to miss!   • Episode 109: David and Micah Gamboa of Elijah Rising on Combating Sex Trafficking, the Power of Prayer, and Experiencing Miraculous Healing

    I am honored to have David and Micah Gamboa from Elijah Rising joining me on the podcast for episode 109! Elijah Rising is a nationally-recognized anti-trafficking agency based in Houston, Texas. Micah serves as the Executive Director of Elijah Rising, and David serves as Communications Director. Through their work with Elijah Rising, they are pursuing the eradication of sex trafficking in the Gulf Coast region.
     
    In our conversation, we chat about the development of Elijah Rising, from the early days–to the work they are currently doing in prayer, awareness, intervention, and restoration. Micah and David share how they came to serve at Elijah Rising, and how they have seen God move in miraculous ways! This topic is serious and heart-wrenching, which is why I am so grateful for the work of Elijah Rising and individuals like Micah and David who are on the frontlines helping to combat the injustice.

    In the second half of our conversation, we talk about how Micah was miraculously healed after suffering full cardiac arrest while speaking at a church in Houston. This experience led David to learn more about the healing power of Jesus, lead healing services, and inspire others to have faith that God can heal, even when it looks impossible!   • Episode 108: Marcus Medina on Stepping Out in Faith and Building Financial Literacy as Artists

    Marcus Medina, founder and owner of M.Medina Productions, joins me for episode 108! M.Medina Productions is an all-inclusive, one stop shop production company offering services in photography, videography, choreography, stunt work, and more. Marcus has a heart for creating opportunities for artists and helping them thrive in their careers without compromising their values.

    I enjoyed getting to know Marcus through our conversation. We dive into his journey as an artist–from his early years in an Arts school to professional experiences as a dancer and stunt actor in Orlando. He shares about his faith journey, how that led him to move to Dallas, Texas, and most recently to build his production company.

    With a degree in Entertainment Management and as a Licensed Financial Coach and Licensed Financial Planner, Marcus has a passion for helping artists gain greater financial literacy. He shares practical tips for stewarding our finances well as artists and what he’s been learning in his journey as an entrepreneur. So many great takeaways from today’s conversation!

    I am so excited to share this inspiring conversation with my friend, Barbara “Barbs” Vega, for episode 107! Barbs and I met through the dance team world, and I loved getting to hear more about her journey with dance and faith. Barbs is the Assistant Dance Director at Tomball Memorial High School and is the visionary behind Behold 2023: A Christian Retreat for Dance Directors, taking place in August 2023!

    Born and raised in Mexico, Barbs shares her experience moving to California and then to Texas, and how she continued to pursue dance. We chat about how she ended up as a dance teacher and director, and how God inspired Barbs to create a retreat for dance directors! In our conversation, we talk about the importance of community, identity, discipleship, and how one small “yes” to God leads to the greatest adventure with Him!

    My new friend, Maria McCain, joins me for episode 106! Maria is the Director of Dance at University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. She received her degree in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University and her Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University. Maria shares about how her pursuits in life shifted as she witnessed the power of dance to speak about topics of faith through the language of movement. She took multiple steps of faith with God, which eventually led her to Houston.

    In our conversation, Maria and I chat about developing as a leader, choreography, and how dance can act as a catalyst for unity in the Christian Church. I love Maria’s encouragement to artists to “have hope, and be bold.”

    What a JOY to spend time with the lovely Sarah Matzke! Sarah describes herself as “a human that uses the studio as laboratory and movement as choreographic medium.” She is a professor of dance at Texas Christian University and The University of Texas at Dallas and teaches as a guest artist globally. Sarah is the co-founder of Aaron + Hur, a non-profit organization that equips leaders in developing countries to use somatic movement for healing and community reconstruction.

    In our conversation, Sarah and I chat about her “unconventional” journey with dance. She shares about her research, both through her MFA experience and her current work with Embodied Theology. We talk about topics ranging from teaching methods to Sarah’s faith journey. I am so grateful for this opportunity to connect with Sarah!

    In our conversation, we dive into topics such as using our creativity for God’s glory, living in freedom from fear, finding inspiration as an artist, and identity. I also loved chatting with Kendall about the various meanings of the word “praise” in the Bible and how that knowledge helps us gain a deeper understanding of worship.

    My friend Hannah (Ueckert) Schulte is back with her husband, Brandon Schulte! Hannah was our guest on Episode 59 of the podcast. Today, she and Brandon share their story and journey of saying “yes” to God. Brandon is a sound engineer working in arenas, churches, and beyond to help make music happen and spread the name of Jesus. Hannah has shifted from a full-time focus on dance to developing her craft as a videographer helping to capture movement and the special moments and memories in life.

    We chat about how they are using their gifts to bring excellence, peace, and light to their community. Brandon and Hannah also share about their new business, Schulte Productions, and how they are working together to make an impact.
