In Episode 8, “Deep Work Through Yoga”, we interview Selena Garefino. She has a diverse background as a writer, speaker, South-Asian Anthropologist, Ayurvedic practitioner, and personal development coach, Selena has been teaching yoga and movement since 2006. She holds a MPH from Boston University, a MA in Cultural Anthropology, and is a PhD Candidate at the University of Montana. She is a two time Cornell University Nepali Language Fellow, and 2017 Fulbright awardee. Currently, she’s completing her dissertation research on yoga and spiritualism in the West at the University of Montana.
We talk about knowing what your actual dreams are and steps we can use to actually achieve them. We dive into the different voices in our heads, and how to become the the ‘bouncer’ of the party. We even get into how white supremacy is ingrained in new age spiritualism and yoga. This is a great episode for any yogi, anyone looking to create a yoga practice or dip their toes into self development work.
She’s launched an online version of her yoga teacher training. Just as potent as in person, but from the comfort of your own home!
