  • 041: Tips for Creating Flat Lay Photography

What is a "flat lay"? How do you quickly, inexpensively and easily style your photo?

     - Consider a background like a white canvas, poster board, your dining room table, your flooring, wrapping paper etc to get that beautiful background
     - Bring your style and brand colors into your photo
     - Add your art supplies in our photos (they almost always match)
     - Shop your house for accessories and home decor.
     - Office supplies are a great addition.
     - Add house plants, bowls, notebooks, chopstick holders, journals, twigs, leaves, flowers, in the corners of your photos.
     - Ready to increase your stylings? Look at flat lay surfaces online and purchase a few.  Add specialty lighting either natural or artificial. Add more white space to your photos to create room for graphics or just for impact.
