Happy 20th episode! Another bite sized episode but the topic is deep. From Thunderbirds to rattlesnakes, Baraboo Wisconsin has history of paranormal and murderous in Wisconsin's own forebodingly named Devil's Lake. The stories from native folklore and how it came to be, to present time events, this episode covers it all. Grab your kimchi soup and work on your accent, the hike on up the bluff is not for the faint of heart. Or watch out for what might be lurking in the depths of the lake...
Brand new recording method to bring you the best audio quality try-outs in our first attempt at remote recording! This bite sized episode covers the violent murder of Rhinelander, Wisconsin man Dexter Stefonek, who was killed on his way home from Oregon state at a rest stop in Montana. The only clues were a description of a tall, fair haired man and a message in the men's restroom. To this day, no one knows what happened to him. Join us on this puzzling mystery, and try to hold back vomit at the poem excerpt that will be read to you, our dear listener.
Many know the story of the red-eyed, winged creature who stalked the Ohio River Valley once upon a time, but did you know that the Mothman was not an isolated incident? Far from it, there have been Mothman sightings reported throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. And did you know that at the same time residents of Point Pleasant, West Virginia were terrified of the Mothman, they were also the center of heavy and bizarre UFO and extraterrestrial activity? Join Kayleigh and Amy as they don their cryptid caps and dive deep into the lore of the Mothman.
We are getting supernatural in this episode as Amy takes to H.O.M.E.S! Shout out to her brother for pushing us off the plank and into a dive deep to the bottom of Lake Michigan to explore the shipwrecks, plane crashes, missing people and the potential source of power. Can you say alien vortex? And no, the house isn't falling apart as we record, the wash machine is out on a rampage. Hold your breath and listen in!
Amy takes us to Capitol Hill to discuss the murder of Chandra Levy. Chandra was a D.C. intern when she suddenly disappeared in May of 2001, leading investigators on a trail that would dig up more dirt than an archeologist. Her disappearance sparked a media fire storm that would lead to an unsatisfactory end, raising more questions than answered, and leaving the entire nation shocked at who the suspects are.
The audio is a bit wonky, but you love a good mystery and us, right?
We're dipping our toes back into the unsolved sack to bring you the disappearance of 27-year old Amos Mortier of Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Amos and his beloved dog, Gnosis, disappeared from their home on November 8, 2004. As police investigate, they stumble upon one of the largest drug busts in the capital city's history and lose sight of Amos. With a smorgasbord of suspects with both motive and opportunity, no one has ever been arrested for his presumed death, but that won't stop Kayleigh from telling you her conspiracy theory!
The conclusion to The Worst Ways to Die is here! From being crushed to rare disorders, nothing is scarier than the inside joke between Amy and her brother, but number 1 will give it a run for it's money. Be warned, the images are so graphic we cannot put share it in our Instagram, so proceed with caution if curious minds prevail. This episode we will definitely get to the gore, so enjoy creeps!
