The 1960s and 70s brought an onslaught of peace, love, and freedom previously unseen in society; unfortunately for a small group of teens in Huntington Beach, California, it also introduced them to a man named David Berg. Though it would later be known by a multitude of names, Berg would go on to found a free love movement he called ‘The Children of God’. Preaching free love and spiritual weapons, The Children of God would grow to cult status - rife with child sexual abuse, mental control, and a leader in hiding to avoid his crimes.
