Man do I got some updates for y'all! There've been a lot of changes in my life recently and, as excited as I am about them, I also have had to work through a lot of not-so-great feelings like (our common perpetrators): fear, guilt, shame. In this episode, I reveal my next big life step and read a poem I wrote to (hopefully) get me through.

With all that's going on in the world right now, one thing that gives me strength is reconnecting with community. In this episode I FaceTime my oldest friend Maija & read her my poem, "Providence is." Join us as we talk about being from PVD, awkward middle school years, & how our friendship has lasted 15 yrs!
In celebration of Pride, 10% of the podcast’s proceeds will go to the The Okra Project.
For this 2nd Unplugged episode, I celebrate my badass & beautiful mother, Erika J. Garcia. I perform my powerful ode to her, "I Come From my Mother," & discuss some of the inspiring stories that has made my mother the compassionate, feisty, kind, powerhouse that she is today. To all the powerful mami's out there <3.

Are you petty? Do you like “making things, events, or actions normal people dismiss as trivial or insignificant into excuses to be upset, uncooperative, childish, or stubborn” (Urban Dictionary)? In this episode, I talk about a time when I, too, desperately wanted to just bask in pettiness, but how a micro poem I wrote helped me realize what I should probably do instead.
In honor of Black History Month, I perform, “Have You Thanked a Black Woman Today?” Hannah & I discuss the poem's origins, the importance of Black women, & my creative process.
