Recounts the 2019 murder of Mahmoud El-Banna in Monufia, Egypt, by Mohamed Ashraf Ragih and his accomplices. Ragih, a troubled youth from a wealthy family, often engaged in bullying and was protected by his parents’ influence, contrasting with the honorable victim, Mahmoud El-Banna. The conflict escalated after El-Banna intervened when Ragih harassed a girl, Rona, over private photos, and later posted a critical message online, provoking Ragih and his gang to ambush and fatally stab him. The case led to a high-profile trial and public outcry, and because of the perpetrators’ ages, Ragih and two accomplices were sentenced to fifteen years of hard labor rather than execution.
