Aya’s story is one of the most heartbreaking tales of cruelty and neglect. Born in 1995, she never knew the safety or warmth a child deserves. Her parents divorced early, and instead of finding stability, Aya was passed around like a burden. Eventually, she ended up in the home of her father, Eid, and his second wife, Azza, where her life became a daily nightmare. The pair, later referred to as the “three devils” when including Aya’s absent mother, Amira, subjected her to relentless abuse. Aya was beaten, starved, isolated, and forced to live as nothing more than a servant. Her desperate attempts to flee only led to harsher punishments. At times, she was tied to a chair for weeks, cut off from the world, her childhood stolen inch by inch. The cruelty reached its peak in 2014, when Aya was bound for seven straight months until her frail body could no longer endure the torment. When she died, her emaciated frame and the marks of torture left no doubt about what she had suffered. Investigators quickly turned the case into a criminal trial, and her father was arrested and confessed, showing no trace of remorse. Aya’s biological mother remained absent, offering no refuge, no protest, nothing. In the end, many saw Aya’s death not just as a tragedy, but as a release from a lifetime of suffering she should never have endured.
