Angels of death AKA caretakers who kill. Cheryl starts off with the story of widow and nursing home proprietor, Amy Archer-Gilligan, before Hannah dives into the story of pediatric ICU nurse Genene Jones, whose shift soon became known as the "death shift."

How have real-life true crime stories influenced our fictional cinema worlds? We had mixed interpretations of our theme this week. Hannah kicks it off with the story of American gangster, John Dillinger, portrayed by Johnny Depp in the classic true crime action movie, Public Enemies. Then, Cheryl jumps into the devastating murder of Cassie Jo Stoddart by two of her classmates, inspired by the 90's horror movie, Scream.

This week, Cheryl starts us off with the mysterious and infamous case of the Dyatlov Pass Incident before Hannah dives in tragedy and supernatural aftermath of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.

We're a little early for Halloween, but this week we decided to tell the stories of Los Angeles's mysterious Cecil Hotel followed by H. H. Holmes and his Chicago "Murder Castle." 

These are the tragic stories that have to be told. Cheryl starts off this week with one of the first cases that sparked her interest in true crime - West Des Moines paper boy, Johnny Gosch. Hannah follows up with the story of Adam Walsh, a six year old abducted in plain sight from a Sears department store.

We get to end on a hopeful note this week! Tune in to hear the spectacular story of kidnapping and serial killer victim Kara Robinson, followed by the harrowing story of canyoneer Aron Ralston faced with an impossible choice. As awful as these stories are, just remember the key element - they survive!
