Did you know that punishments for crimes were a lot harsher 100 years ago? Convicted criminals would dream of being locked up. However this was not the fate for Hadj Mohammed Mesfewi, the Marrakesh Arch-Killer.

Mesfewi killed 36 women in 1906 in Marrakesh. Once his crimes were discovered, he was subject to torture, humiliation and a brutal execution via immurement, the act of walling someone in a cell until they died.
