Life is always going to be challenging. You have to keep going. You to build your foundation - Brick by Brick. Nothing in life comes easy. Relationships, Money, Job and Health and Wellness. You have to work hard for everything.
It's like building a house. You start with the foundation. You start building your dream brick by brick. Once the house is complete you can start laying the groundwork for another challenge or milestone.
The most important thing to remember is that you have much support in your ambitions and dreams. You are never alone.

I want to take a moment and talk about 3 Mindset Misconceptions that you might have.
1) When I have more money everything will be fine. Money is very important, but money isn't going to make you happy. Money is a tool, nothing else. If you are a good person money will amplify that. The opposite is also true.
2) I can do everything alone. While it is true that you must make your own decisions you will need your community to help you make the big ones. Life is not a solo sport - we are social beings and we need others to help us on our path.
3) I am my past - You are not your past. Sure, there are decisions you wished you didn't make but your mistakes don't define who you are. You learn from your mistakes and hopefully don't make the same mistakes going forward. This is where a lot of people struggle.
There many many more misconceptions but there are at the top for me. Remember you are the pilot of your life - and you can fly anywhere.

It was such an honor having Mack Alexander on the show. Mack is a retired Navy SEAL turned entrepreneur and he is the creator of Mack Belts.
After being medically retired from the Navy, Mack went through some very dark times. During his active duty he sustained various concussions that left him with PTSD and the inability to talk. Through his faith in God Mack pushed forward.
Mack went on to create Mack Belts - The Toughest Belt on Earth.
In this episode, Mack and I have a candid conversation about his dark periods in life and how many first responders and vets suffer in silence. Mack is dedicated to first responder and veteran health and wellness.

Imagine that tomorrow never comes. Imagine that this is your last day on Earth. What would you do different? Would you make that call to a loved one you have been putting off? Would you take time to mend relationships? Would you reach out to someone and say you needed help with something?
Tomorrow is never guaranteed even though most, including myself, take it for granted.
All we have in this moment in time. Please make the most of it.
Go out and conquer your day.

After they retire, many first responders believe they can't do anything else. They believe they have limited skill sets. This is far from the truth. You can do anything you set your mind to.
My next guest is David (Super Dave) Leath. Dave is The Chief Visionary Officer at The Hero Coach where he teaches first responders to translate their skillsets into making a living after their first responder career.
Dave is an active LEO with many years of experience and has his own amazing podcast called The Hero Academy.
In this episode Dave and I talk about some of his highs and lows in Law Enforcement as well as his great work with first responders.

If you want to increase your happiness you have to do what you love in life. This can be personal or professional. Life is too short to work at a job you hate or be in a relationship that brings you heartache and bitterness.
You have this one life. When you do what you love you will never work another day in your life. Most people hate their jobs and where they are at in life.
Take a moment and measure your happiness. If you aren't happy then do something about it. Sometimes you have to step down to step back up.

I remember hearing throughout my life that the best things in life are free. I don't think anything is free. Everything you want takes hard work, which is essence, is paying for something. Love for example is not free. In order to have a rich and fulfilling relationship you must work at it.
Remember that you have the power to make changes in your life. You always have and always will.
