The Spirit brings us to a call to believe and appropriately follow Christ’s claims. Christ clearly and repeatedly tells us that He is returning, what He will do when He returns, why he is waiting now and where we can learn all about it. When believed this will bring us to diligence, focus and growth in grace and the truth of the Scriptures.

As believers, our hope is not in this world, but while we live here we are to live lives that reflect the goodness of our King, while we wait for his return and the renewal of all things.

God’s word is full of promises for his people. Peter warns us that in this time, scoffers will come to try to dismiss these promises of Gods and distract God’s people from the hope of Christ’s return.

Peter and Jude together warn the church of the presence of false teachers, how to identify them, and the tragedy of close observers of Christianity being consumed by them.

The knowledge of God gives delight and hope, but the great foe of this will be the continual

presence of false teachers who bring in subtle error that brings destruction into the church. But, God is faithful and will preserve and prosecute with perfection.

The truth of Christ’s gospel is not from human origin, but rather from God Himself, given by the Holy Spirit through human authors, and therefore worthy of all trust, hope and exerts the full authority of God

Peter tells the church that he had committed himself to helping them remember the truths of God. Likewise, we must be intentional in helping each other remember who God is and who he has made us to be.

Those who are spiritually healthy will strive to grow in Christlikeness in which they will experience an amazingly fruitful life and clear demonstration of their salvation.

The knowledge of God is a gracious blessing to us that makes at least three gifts possible: His gracious peace, His divine power, and His precious promises.

Christ, being fully God and man has made us righteous and given us a equal standing before God. This is true of all believers, from the baby Christian to the Apostle Peter.
