Okay, so we are on prayer and, um, you know, I remember when I was in her same like just place in life and there was a time that I really I was just like I don't know how to pray, like do I just say the Lord's Prayer, like what do I do? And I found a copy of the 23rd song and I started off that way because I was like this is a prayer. I mean, I know it's a scripture, but it's a prayer too, right. So I started off there and I think a lot of times we don't really realize the power of not just prayer but the power of, you know, scriptures and the Bible and things of that nature. And you know, a lot of us have these ideas about the Bible because of, because of like a lot of dogma and just a lot of things that we were told that are really just not true about love or about God right, because God is love right, and so a lot of us don't think of God as love and a lot of us aren't even educated enough to know what love really and truly is. So, um, I just told her not to do what I've done but to find something that is short and sweet again, because we're just starting off small, short and sweet again that she can do so, whether it's the Lord's Prayer, whether it's the 23rd song, whether it's something else that she personally finds that works for her, because your morning routine is for you, it's not necessarily what someone else tells you to do. It is find what works for you, but do it and work it basically.
02:22
So I suggested the 23rd song and, surprisingly, it's her favorite song. So that was pretty easy. Right, she was able to. We were able to talk about it and she was just, we were both like really, really excited, because it's something that I still read to this day and she said for herself, it was very powerful for her as well. So I was like, oh, this is so awesome. So, um, so yeah, just find something that works for you and when we're talking about in the very beginning, just do it consistently. That's what we need is consistency consistency bills. Belief consistency bills, trust consistency bills.

Okay, this is one of my favorites. So the next thing that we discussed, or the next thing that I shared with her, was journaling, and I'm pretty passionate about journaling, because journaling has literally changed my life and has healed me in so many ways, in so many ways, and so the first thing that I suggested to her is for her to have a journal where she can just simply oops, where she can just simply write out what is going on, what's driving her crazy, what's getting on her nerves, if she's mad about something or whatever, just get it out, get it out of your head, get it out of your heart, get it out of your body, like just get it out. And that is what I call a dump journal. I tell all my clients to get one, anyone that is going through anything. I tell them to get a separate journal to dump in.
01:11
Okay, dump everything in. It could be what's going on at work, it could whatever it is, but it's not necessarily good things, but it's things that you need to release. That is the purpose of the dump journal. The other journal that I told her to start is the journal where she's talking about her hopes, dreams, desires, goals, where she can express her gratitude for what it is that she has, or maybe even take time to write out five things that you're grateful for every day, that is. I mean you can take that into a separate journal if you want to, but you can also just have it in your journal. It doesn't have to be like three or four journals. At this point, we're trying to start off small.
01:57
The only reason why I suggested the dump journal is because it's necessary If you're going through stuff. There's a lot of things that you can do when you're going through stuff. You can call your girlfriends, you can call your mom, you can call this, that, the other thing, but it's still going to be somewhat in your head, right, and so what my thing is is that getting that out, getting that out somewhere in a central location, and it also lends to seeing your growth over time as well. Like, I don't know how many journals I have. I have lots of them, but I'm sure that I can go back and see the trajectory of how I've changed from back then. Whether it was 2012 or whatever year it was, you know what I'm saying. So, anyway, journaling is powerful. Journaling allows you to not only spend time being grateful, but it also allows you to release the good and the bad. I wouldn't say that.
Part 6...
Listen in as we discuss the transformative power of music in daily praise and worship. We share how incorporating this practice into your everyday routine can deepen your connection with a higher power, allowing for a genuine expression of gratitude. With an array of musical genres to choose from, including rock gospel, traditional gospel, or even rap gospel, there's a wide spectrum of soul-stirring tunes to tap into that help evoke feelings of thankfulness and appreciation.

There's also a mention of how you can create your own praise and worship playlist on platforms like YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, SoundCloud, etc. Let this conversation inspire you to find songs that truly touch your heart and soul, and discover how this daily practice can be a game changer in your life.

Hello again. So one of the next things that I suggested to her was to practice daily praise and worship and thank God that music has taken on a life of its own, and so if you want to listen to a rock gospel album or traditional gospel, or if you want to listen to a rap gospel album, like anything that you country I'm sure everything is available to you and whatever genre or music you like, right. And so the purpose of praise and worship is just that to say thank you and to actually also get into the feeling of being grateful, also getting into the feeling of saying thank you God, getting into the feeling those words or some of those songs I'm just thinking of some of my favorite songs and how they make me feel, how I think back to all that I've been through and how he's brought me through all of those things, how he has blessed me immensely. It's praise and worship, right. And so one of the things that I suggested to her YouTube is my jam. So please, I don't know, don't shoot me because I'm constantly saying YouTube, but I have a playlist on YouTube. I have a playlist on Pandora and I have a playlist on SoundCloud as well, right, but putting together.
02:10
Music that gives you that feeling. If you only knew what having regular gratitude and praise for your higher power does for you on a daily basis. You are not only, you're not only committing to building a relationship, but you're also letting him know that you're thankful for all that you have now, not what you're going to have, what you have now. It's so powerful, it's so powerful, so anyway. So I told her to practice praise and worship. Find some songs that really touch her heart and her soul, and listen to them daily. Allow that to come into your life and it will be a game changer. So, praise and worship, let's go on to the next one. Thank you, guys, for being here.

Okay, so we did surrender and meditating, but I just want to pause for a second and talk about something that I'm super passionate about, because it has literally changed my entire life. So having a morning routine is probably one of the best decisions that you can make in your entire life. Getting up in the wee hours of the morning and dedicating time between you and God is a life changer, and so what I'm speaking about, and what I'm talking about and sharing that I had a conversation with a person that I personally love that was coming to me asking me a question. These steps that I'm giving you equal a morning routine. It doesn't necessarily say that you can't do it any other time, because you can do it whenever you want, but what I'm saying is that devoting a special time between you and God, or you and a higher power, whatever it is you want to want to call it please don't get caught up in the words that I use, or even if I curse, or whatever the case may be, because you're going to miss the message. You're going to miss the message. You're going to miss the message.
01:40
Okay, so spending time, not just not just spending time with a higher power, but spending time with yourself.
01:56
There's so much that goes on in the world in your day, especially with these phones, their distractions, literally the television, the radio, podcasts all of these things are going on like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
02:09
When do you have time to rest, when do you have time to actually build on who it is that you are, because all of those distractions are pulling you down. Honestly, I don't think you're. I mean, you could possibly be learning something, but what I'm saying is that a lot of us don't even have our own minds. We just use other people's, other people's opinions, what we heard on the news or whatever, and we just regurgitated out Like, have you ever thought about whether or not you have your own thoughts? Do you have your own thoughts? And so a morning routine is so powerful because it's so many things combined into one. Not only are you spending time with a higher power, you're also spending time with yourself. You're giving yourself a chance to think, you're giving yourself a chance to be grateful. I mean, there's just so many things that you're getting from it, so I'll just leave that there. I'm not going to say anything else about it because I'm so passionate.
Part 4...
Do you remember the first time you tried to meditate? I do. It felt like an eternity crammed into a single minute. That feeling of discomfort, however, was the stepping stone to a transformative journey. On today's episode, I share my personal meditation experiences, detailing how I started with a modest 60-second practice that evolved as I grew more comfortable. I can't stress enough how vital consistency is in this practice - this isn't a one-time activity but a daily commitment.
Along the way, we discuss the hurdles of embracing new practices, with a special focus on the indispensable role of patience. If you're ready to embrace change and new experiences, remember it's not always a comfortable process. There's a need to release control and let things naturally take their own course. To help you kick-start your meditation journey, I also offer practical advice on finding that perfect one-minute meditation on YouTube. Ignore those initial missteps; they are part of this beautiful journey. Prepare for some authentic, inspiring talk about meditation and personal growth. It's not about the destination, but the journey itself. Let's embark on this adventure together.

00:22 - Rachel Rae" Mindy (Host)
Okay. So the next one was after I told her to surrender the first thing that I told her to do, because she indicated remember I said she indicated that she didn't really have, you know, a morning routine or practice. She's already struggled with meditation, so this is what I told her. I told her to start off small, but that meditation was very important. And so my suggestion, which is this is exactly what I did when I started meditating years ago I started off small. I mean a one minute, 60 second meditation to me felt like an hour. Okay, but you can do it. You can do it. One minute meditation, that's it. That's all. Cancel Christmas, that's it. That's all you need. Okay, and you do. Now.
01:19
I'm not telling you to meditate once. This has to be a consistent thing. So this is something that you want. This is something that you're going to have to do. It requires work, and it requires work because you've never done this before. So how do you expect it to yield an ROI when you just done it one time? That's just like when you're trying to build muscle, do you just lift the weight once. That's just like you know. I mean, it's just like with anything like.
01:48
You have to make it a practice. You have to make a change, you have to do the work and, unfortunately well, not unfortunately, but it feels unfortunately right, when you're trying to do a new thing, it's not always easy if it's totally outside of the realm of what it is that you have done before. Right, because you're taking on new beliefs, new experiences and things of that nature. You really have to be patient and again, it is really not up to you, right, and it's not you, because you're releasing control. So it's not when you want it to happen, it's when it's divinely meant to happen.
02:31
Okay, and so meditation going back to meditation, because I'm getting off the subject go on YouTube, find a voice that resonates with you. I'm going to post some meditations and stuff eventually, but my voice might not resonate with you. So this is your thing. This is just me as the teacher, as the coach or whatever, like coaching you to go do it, but at the end of the day, it's not up to me. I'm not your, I'm not your guru, I'm not the person that you know what I'm saying. Like it's you. You're going to do this, you're going to accomplish this, and this is not going to necessarily be easy, but you're going to get it done. Find someone on YouTube, find a one minute meditation that you resonate with whether it's the music, whether it's the voice or whatever and do it, and you're not going to get it right. The first time, the second time, the third, just keep going, keep going.
Part 3...
Join me as we continue to explore the spiritual journey of surrendering. We talked about how letting go of control and entrusting your fate to a higher power, whether you perceive that as God or the universe, can open up new paths of understanding. We discuss how surrendering doesn't mean giving up, but instead it's about trusting things will unfold as they should, even if it's not in the way we initially envision. There's a deep dive into the times we might crave something that isn't truly good for us, and how a greater power might have something better in store.
The conversation also touches on the importance of gratitude and faith in this journey. It's not just about expressing gratitude through words, but genuinely feeling and believing in it. We discuss how faith is not just about reciting prayers, but truly believing in them and the change they can bring. We unpack how these elements intertwine with the concept of surrendering, providing listeners with a new perspective on how to approach life's challenges. Tune in for a heartfelt discussion filled with personal anecdotes and insights that will inspire you to approach life with a new mindset.

00:15 - Rachel "Rae" Mindy (Host)
Okay. So I think I wanted to just go into a little bit more about surrendering. So when you're surrendering, you are releasing, like I said, control Of when it happens, how it happens, whatever, because God knows what's best for you. And so there are times that you might want something that's not good for you, but you don't realize that it's not good for you, but God does. You know. There are several times in my life where I was asking for something, something specific. Like God, I want this to happen. You know what I'm saying, and I'm sure that he was probably like I have something better for you. And so maybe once you realize that you're not going to get that, maybe you'll ask me for whatever it is that I feel is best for you. And so when I say for your greatest and highest good, that is exactly what I'm talking about. So instead of saying God, I need $10,000 by next week, say, you know, like not telling him, but asking what is best for me. How am I going to get through this situation? I need this amount of money for this? Show me what to do, give me the guidance, give me a nudge or an idea or something like that. That's what I mean. I mean releasing your own control, because how dare you, how dare you pray to God and then tell him what to do? What I mean, does that make sense? Like seriously, does that make sense?
01:48
So what I'm saying is surrendering. And when I say asking, that is simply what it is. Whatever it is your issue, your problem, whatever you're going through, whether it's your child, whether it's your job, whether it's your husband, whether it's your fiance, like whether you just got into a car accident, whatever. And this is why gratitude also goes into it. I'll get into gratitude a little bit later, because you need to be grateful for what it is that you have, truly grateful for what it is that you have.
02:24
And a lot of people think that words are like the end, all beyond. No, it is your feeling, it is your belief, it is your faith in knowing that what it is that you're saying is going to come to pass. A lot of people tell me all the time, like I've been through this, all the time, like I pray, and I ask do you believe in your prayers? Because if you're just praying, if you're just doing the action, like musing the words, it's kind of manipulative if you think about it. I prayed about this and it didn't happen. Okay, well, your, your, your stature doesn't even look like you believed in it. So I'm sure you know. I'm not sure where your prayer went, but you need to have feeling behind it. So, anyway, surrender, that's surrender. So we're going to stop there and go to the next step.
Part 2...
Can you recall the last time you felt truly at peace, knowing that everything was out of your hands and you were simply a participant in something greater than yourself? It's time to have a profound conversation about cultivating unshakeable faith in God and realizing the freedom in surrender. Not referring to grandiose gestures truly committing to this practice. It is very important to emphasize on the quiet, personal moments - in your closet, shower, or bedside - when you let go and invite a higher power to take the wheel.
The journey we embark on is not one of loss, but discovery. As we share our personal experiences, we walk you through the questions we started asking after opening ourselves to divine guidance. Questions like, "What will you have me do?", "Where will you have me go?", and "What would you have me say and to whom?" (from A Course in Miracles) We seek to illustrate that surrendering is not about losing control, but rather embracing a new way of life guided by faith. So join in, as we explore the liberating act of surrendering to God and how it can change your life.
Your journey matters, and your voice will always be heard here, so be sure to share your thoughts, questions and reflections with me on my innerwebs.

Okay, we are here, so I think that I might name this how to Develop Unwavering Faith in God. Maybe that'll be the name of it, we'll see. So the first thing that I tell her or anyone else that I work with, friend, foe, client, whatever you want to call it is surrender. And when I say surrender I am simply saying to find a space, and it doesn't have to be anything extravagant. It could be your closet, it could be your shower, literally. I mean, you could be on the side of your bed on your knees, you could be laying in the bed, it doesn't really matter.
00:53
But what you need to do is you just need to excuse me, you just need to tell God that you're done, like I'm not really sure what to do. I've tried everything else. Nothing seems to be working, and so I am surrendering everything that is going on in my life to you, and I am going to do nothing from this point forward, but to ask and listen for your direction. But right now I am surrendering all of me and everything that comes with me to you, and I'm asking you to come into my life and to speak to me and let me know what it is that you want me to do because I am just I'm done, I can't do it anymore and I don't want to. I am inviting you into my life so that I can move forward in life, because at this point I don't know how, I don't know what, where, when, and it's just that simple.
02:13
And I promise you like if you do this and I mean you can get on your knees, you can do all of these dramatic things. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. I mean, those things are great and they sound good and that's probably what was done back in the day. But God is with you. You just have to realize it and you just have to accept him. And yeah, like my questions in the beginning to God was what will you have me do? Where will you have me go? What would you have me to say and to whom? But that was after I surrendered. Like surrendering to me is just relinquishing all control.

Hey, how is everybody? Okay? So if you don't know who I am, I'm Rachel Mindy. I'm a transformation coach it's the best name that I could come up with. What I concentrate on is helping my clients build faith, build acceptance of themselves, and that is coupled with self-love, and with that a transformation takes place and they see themselves in a whole new light. That's what I do.
00:35
I had a question come to me from just an absolutely beautiful person. I wanted to share that question with you, and then I'm going to share with you the solutions that I gave her. She asked me earlier this week how I have unwavering faith in God and how she could go about getting that on her own. She mentioned that she doesn't have a practice right now. She knows that she has an assignment, she knows that she is very powerful, but she does not necessarily have that unwavering belief and faith in the things that she wants to start with. That doesn't matter at the moment. She told me that she was listening to a podcast video or something and he was talking about meditation. She said that she's tried it and that it didn't really work for her. She doesn't get it, but she wants to because it's going to benefit her and family. She's just simply asking how do you have this unwavering faith in God? How do you do this?
01:39
In the next couple of videos, I'm going to make these videos short and go through the steps that I gave her. I didn't want to keep that between the two of us, because that's what I have been doing for years. I want to share the information with anyone who may or may not have the same issue.
One thing I want to say this is a PSA, I curse. So if you don't like cursing, if cursing is going to move you away from the actual message that I am putting out, then you probably just need to keep going. You can keep scrolling or stop the video or just don't watch it anymore. Thanks!

Welcome Soul Food Family to episode one of Crossing Bridges with Ray. I'm your host, rachel Mindy, aka Ray, and this I'm going to share with you. Just a little bit about me first before we start the episode. So I am a guide and a strategist who is super passionate about elevating minds and souls around self-acceptance, self-love, self-mastery and embracing your personal power through the divine, through the Creator, through God, whatever you call Him. This is something that has changed my life and many who have come before me. So grab some of this soul food and let's go. So today's episode, we are going to start with a question.
00:52
I thought that this question was really important because it could be the same question that you're asking yourself how do you have unwavering faith in God? How, after all the things that you've been through in your life, like where did it come from? Like how did you develop it? This was a question that was asked of me during lockdown, and this came from a very, very, very beautiful person who was going through things spiritually, but she also was going through things, I would say, just kind of sort of overall. I personally feel like when your spiritual life is all over the place, it kind of goes along with your life being all over the place, right, and so she was really trying to understand like you know, I do know some of your personal story, like I do know about, you know, the loss of your daughter or any of the other things that I had shared within this group, and she was just trying to figure out, like, how does this happen? Like, how did you do this, how did you get to this point? And so what I'm going to do is I created some audios a couple of years ago for the purpose of answering this question and I'm going to share them with you. So please excuse my so's and my ums and my ahs or whatever the case may be. It was very raw and like, not even you know, it wasn't even anything that I was trying to be perfect at In this podcast. I will say ums, ahs, I'm Mike Hurst. Don't profess, nor do I want to be perfect. I want to be authentic and I want to come across like you can trust me and you can trust the things that I'm saying, because I know what I'm talking about, right, and so, as as time goes on and as I speak more, the UMS and I will probably disappear, but for right now. Just forgive me for that. So let me just give you a list of the things that I'm going to release on this podcast after this episode, and we can go from there.
02:53
So one of the first things that I'm going to talk about is surrendering. That's one of the first things that I talked to her about and shared with her. Then I went into meditation. I also talked to her about the importance of a morning routine. A morning routine is not just a simple thing. It really elevates you on so many levels because there are principles and practices that you do on a daily basis and you know, stepping into the early hours, when it's more of a divine time of the day. I could go on and on, but I won't because I'm going to share all of these with you, all of these audios.
03:36
I described to her the importance of praise and worship and how music is very powerful in your life and can help you in that realm of just finding who you are and who you are. I also talked to her about journaling and how journaling has been such a healer for me and how she can develop all of these different skills, because this is not something that you've always done, is going to be something that might kind of sort of be a challenge for you at first, but it can be done. I shared with her the importance of prayer and simple ways that she can incorporate it into her day. I also talked to her about the work as well, because the work really is what I just talked about like I'm deaf. I definitely share some really simple ways to start, but what it is is that we just want you to start right and then you can build on it.
04:36
But are you committed to doing work? Because it's not something that happens overnight. I mean, really honestly, anything successful never happens overnight. Right, so it's the commitment and then it's the action that you need to take to get to the, to whatever your personal goal is and your personal end is, whether it's peace of mind, whether it's getting a job I'm sorry, getting a raise at your job, or getting a promotion at your job, or being a better mother and being able to communicate with your children better. Being a better mom I'm sorry being a better wife, husband, girlfriend, fiance, boyfriend, whatever the case may be, like this relationship with God and the and the steps and the foundation, basically, that I'm sharing with you is not just a. It's not religious.
05:29
Okay, these are life. These are life changing practices, tools that are not just about, you know, like reading the Bible and things of that nature, and I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that. What I'm saying is that this changes your life. It changes the way that you communicate with your man. It can. It changes the way that you communicate with your children, with your boss, with your business, with your finances, like when you actually step into who it is that God made you to be.
06:14
That is life changing, and so I just want I just want to say that I don't. I don't want anyone to think that I am sitting here teaching you to. You know read scripture and you know sing certain songs and you know it's. It's so much, so much bigger and it's so much more powerful than you can ever imagine until you actually get into it. I'm not going to tell you that it's going to be easy, nor am I going to tell you that it's going to be hard. It's just going to be challenging. Some of you will be unlearning some of the things that you were taught, and that's fine. That's fine. Some of you will be learning things for the first time, because this is not anything that you've ever done or wherever taught, and that's fine, too, right. All we want, at the end of the day, is to be better, right, and to achieve the goals that we are to achieve in this thing called life, honestly.
07:24
