Much has been written about the 10 plagues of Exodus. Are they simply God's way of fighting the pretend gods of Egypt and judging Pharaoh or is there a greater message for us? This message covers Plagues 3-8 as God sontinues to ramp up the severity of His judgement on the Eqgyptians. Additionally God is slowly revealing the extent of His glory and power. Pharaoh goes from "Who is the Lord that I should obey Him" to asking for God's mercy. Yet, Pharaoh wants God to stop the plagues without being willing to fully obey God's request. Why? His hearts was hard. So who hardens hearts? Is there a remedy?

There is a battle between God and the forces of darkness that has been waging from the beginning of creation until now. In Exodus 7 we see the plagues begin and enemies attempts to mimic the power of God. We must be careful and discerning about where we put our trust because the enemy can easily deceive. We are confronted with many other beliefs and saviors every day that seem to be just as good an option as Jesus but are powerless to save us.

In Exodus 4, we find Moses glad that God has heard the cry of His people but not excited about being part of the solution. We may believe and celebrate the mission and plan of God but are we willing be used of God in whatever way He asks?

Over 480 years have passed since the Israelites entered into Egypt. The majority of that time has been spent in harsh slavery. For centuries they have held on to the promise that God would set them free but their oppression has only gotten worse. Leaving the people to ask does God hear and does He know? Exodus 1-2 records the movement of God has He orchestrates the rescue of His people.

Before we can trust and appreciate the truth that God delivers we must understand the background of the book of Exodus. Who wrote it and when was it written. Skeptics abound and this book has been misrepresented, undermined, and attacked. So, can we really trust it?

How can we live in such a way that God can use us for His glorious purposes. Is my life one of honor or dishonor? If you struggle with feeling like your past or present disqualifies you from being used by God, then you need to hear 2 Timothy 2:20-16.
