Luke 11:5-13 We learned about prayer last week. However, have you ever considered how faith is tied to prayer? Do you pray in faith? We consider that question this week as we continue our series in the gospel of Luke.

There are plenty spheres of life where desperation is not an attractive quality. Think about dating or looking for a job. Not exactly the place you want to appear desperate! However, there are times when desperation is exactly the right emotion. Listen this week as we look at how Jesus encountered a desperate man.

Have you ever met someone and thought, "This is not likely someone to get saved?'' We might know theologically that this is not true. However, sometimes we just have a tendency to think like humans, and not like God. If you had met Simon Peter in the Bible you might have thought that he was one of these unlikely converts. Listen this week as we see how Jesus encountered this man.

From our youth we all naturally don't like authority. We can see this in childhood and all throughout the human life. Just consider the lawless behavior throughout the United States during so-called protests over The past few years. So what should we do when we are confronted with the authority of the Lord Jesus? Where did His authority come from? And should we listen to our own rebellious attitudes on authority, or should we listen to Jesus?

There is no doubt that we can all see that the world is not doing better than it was in years past, particularly in the United States. There is more suicide, more mental illness, more wars, etc. However, we are wealthier than ever. Sexual liberty proponents have told of that we can be free now. So, you would think that we would be happier. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Listen this week as Jesus reminds us that we can never be truly happy until we are poor and brokenhearted.

We have so much to be thankful for. Yet, it is easy to forget about these things. Let's be reminded today by the psalmist about the most important reason we should be thankful.

We have expectations for what a funeral for an important person would look like. Between the floral arrangements, the setting, the eulogies, the grave site, etc. We would expect something ornate and with pomp. However, would you believe that the most important person in all of history died a criminal's death with little recognition? This is exactly what the Lord Jesus experienced. Join us today as we consider the depths He would go to for you and I.

If we asked a group of people, "what is the greatest thing you can do for a child?'' we would probably get a bunch of different answers. However, if we asked God that question, what would He say? Listen this week as we honor the mothers God gave to us and receive instruction for how to guide the children in our lives.
