Does prayer actually change anything, or are you mostly saying words and hoping someone's listening? Jesus taught his followers to pray "your kingdom come, your will be done" in Matthew 6, and in Exodus 32, with a golden calf at the foot of the mountain, Moses prays and God changes his plan. You learned a few prayers growing up, but if you're honest, most days it still feels like you're faking it. In Luke 11 and Matthew 6, Jesus' followers ask him to teach them to pray, and he hands them a prayer short enough to say in the grocery store line. Another war, another shooting, another headline about churches closing, and you start wanting to ask God what in the world he's doing. Three billion people have never heard of Jesus, and you could easily have been one of them.
