In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul gives instructions to the early church on how they should partake of the Lord's Supper - reverently and in remembrance of Jesus' suffering on the cross. Randy helps to the prepare the hearts of our congregation before taking the Lord's Supper, looking at the Israelites' observance of Passover before the cross and the early church's observance after.

In Matthew 17, Jesus' followers tried to cast out a demon and couldn't. Jesus, of course, casts it out with ease and mentions that they were unable because of their lack of faith. However, he then says that it doesn't take much faith to do great things, so how do we reconcile this? The answer is not in how much faith we have but rather in the object of that faith. How big is the God that you have faith in?

Steve walks us through the six events in life that he feels are crucial for everyone to understanding: life, death, destination, resurrection, repayment, and eternity.

Christmas is about God coming into our world - there's no need to complicate it. What is the story of Christmas in its simplest form? God loved us so much that he wanted to send His only Son to die a death that we deserved so that we can be free.

As we get into this year's Christmas season, we turn to Galatians 4 and look at 5 reasons that Christ came into the world to do: 1) Set us free from our slavery, 2) Redeem his original possession, 3) Give us the rights of sonship, 4) Provide us all the riches of heaven and 5) Show us that God's timing is always perfect.

Reading about Achan in Joshua 7 makes us contemplate what the Bible has to say about possessions and taking for ourselves what God has said to leave alone. What are the things of God in your life and what is God saying to us about greed and our unwillingness to share with others? How would God have you share with the needy this week?

Moving forward into 2012, what are some of the challenges the Church will face and how will God prepare the way for us? The key is to trust God, look to God and follow God. We can catch a glimpse as to how to do that by looking at what the Israelites did as they followed God into the unknown territory called the Promised Land.
