After a quick survey through the next 11 chapters of Exodus, we stop at chapter 32 to look at the story of the golden calf. Despite God's involvement in Israel's recent history, the nation is quick to forget Him and turn to idols (after only 40 days!). How are you and I prone to forget the Lord and what can we do to keep a soft heart for him?

Expounding upon one of the most well-known passages in Scripture, we examine the 10 commandments given by God to Moses (and Israel) and how the law back then can be applied in our lives and world today. What are the idols in your life and how do you relate to people in a godly way?

The story in Exodus continues with Moses approaching Mt. Sinai to meet with the holy God. What is the attitude that we should have when approaching the Lord every time we gather in worship?

At Christmastime, there is a lot of talk about "faith", "hope" and "love", but what do these words really mean from Scripture and what does a life look like that is exemplifying these traits? Words from Jesus and followers of Him (in the New Testament) answer these questions for us as we approach Christmas Day.

Reading Galatians 4, we see that Jesus's coming was at just the right time. At Christmastime, we remember that God's timing is always perfect, everything is under His control and He always steps in our lives when the time is right.

Entering the Christmas season, we read Isaiah 9:6 which gives a list of names that the future Messiah would be known by. We examine those names and how they shape our view of Jesus Christ.

Continuing the discussion from last week, as we remember that God provided manna to the Israelites in the desert, we add that He also expected the Israelites to gather twice as much on Friday and then not gather at all on the Sabbath. This is the first time the Sabbath is mentioned in the Bible. Steve gives a message on the importance of keeping the Sabbath and what it means to find your rest in God alone.

As God provided manna to the Israelites in the desert, He expected them to take only what they needed for that day and nothing more. Of course, the Israelites disobeyed this direct order. Why did the Israelites not do as they were instructed and how does this apply to our present-day relationship with God?
