Every church is unique. We are called to be a unique part of the universal body of Christ so that God’s Spirit will move, in our midst, in some unique ways. And we are excited for and open to that. As we begin our Gifted series, we are encouraged to fulfill God’s perfect will for the Crossroads family.

Unfortunately, there are many things in life that get overlooked. We often miss deadlines, forget to pay bills, and even neglect to take care of ourselves. In the busyness and relentlessness of our journeys, important things can fall by the wayside. This also happens in our spiritual lives. In the closing of our On Demand series in Psalms, Pastor Daniel is going to remind us of some things that we need to be sure not to miss. When we do these things, our lives will bear precious fruit and we will be God’s gracious fragrance in our community and our world.

Music has a way of calming the soul and uplifting our spirits. Think about your favorite songs from middle school and high school. What do those songs have to say about who you were at that moment in time? Psalms 16 is the soundtrack for King David, detailing deep fears and insecurities while at the same containing profound truths about the character of God. Join us as we continue in our On Demand series with an up-close look at the lyrics behind the song that is Psalms 16. 

We love our technology don’t we? We love it when we have powerful Wi-Fi, when our dishwashers and appliances work well, and when our cars start right up. We’re used to it and we’ve come to expect it. But how much more powerful are the promises we have in the Lord? Promises of provision, protection, peace, and most of all His presence.. Eventually your technology will fail you and leave you disconnected…but the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you. In Psalms 27 we learn from King David of his ABSOLUTE faith in the Lord to lead him, deliver him, and do good for him all the days of his life. Let’s dive into Psalms 27 and receive all that the Lord has for His kids as we look to Him! 

To be known is to be clearly recognized and understood. There are seasons in our lives when we can be in a crowded room and still feel unknown and misunderstood. Psalms 139 teaches us that no matter where we are, there is a God who intricately knows us. There is no place we can go, there is no thought we can have, there is no struggle that we face that God doesn’t intricately see and know. May the simple truths from today's message inspire you to live a life On Demand in understanding who God is, what He’s doing, and His perfect plans for your life.

Sometimes as we read the scriptures, we run across something that at first glance appears impossible to accomplish. In addition, if it really appears to be unreasonable, it can even filter into our perception of God’s heart for us. As we unpack this Psalm of David we will gain new insights as to what it means to ‘praise the Lord at all times’.

Everywhere you look, right is wrong, wrong is right, and it feels like evil is winning…and it keeps getting worse! Believe it or not, this problem is as old as time. In the Bible, David felt it, Asaph felt it, and Jacob did too. It makes us want to give up…but there’s hope. Psalm 13 and Psalm 73 give us the keys to not just endure another day, but to thrive in whatever circumstances we’re in.

It has been said: “Trust is like a paycheck; you earn it slowly and spend it quickly.” For many of us, trust is something we place a high value on, and yet we don’t know how best to build it nor how to be generous with it. When we fail to manage trust, we create an environment where suspicion underpins every relationship we have. In Psalm 118, we discover the reason we have to trust in the LORD as well as the peace it produces in our lives when we properly apply trust in our day-to-day relationships. 

We all love having our favorite things “on demand.” Unlike at previous times, when you could only watch a program if you happened to be sitting in front of the TV at the show’s airing time or could only hear a song if it happened to be playing on the radio, today everything is at our fingertips. This is also true of God’s favorite songs. We have an entire book called “Psalms” that have the songs of God in them.

As we begin this series, Pastor Daniel will be teaching from Psalm 19, one of his very favorite Psalms. We will see a simple truth, that we should always be learning. What is beautiful is that God is always ready to instruct us!

We have taken a slow and insightful journey, one verse at a time, through Psalm 23 in our “Wild” series. We have explored each idea, on its own, to learn and be transformed. But sometimes, we can be so enamored with a specific tree that we actually miss the entire forest. To make sure that that doesn’t happen, we will take one more pass through Psalm 23 as a whole to see the big ideas that Jesus has for us. Here at Crossroads, we want to simply respond to Jesus. Let’s continue to do that together!
