When we read the book of Acts we see the church being born. As we continue to read through it we see the church fighting for unity. Psalm 139 is an absolute explosion of deep thoughts about God’s omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence. It’s such an incredible feeling to know that this life we live is a gift from the Creator God! His thoughts about us are so deep, we can't even understand them. And no matter how much we study God and His word, we can never exhaust His wisdom. It makes you stop and say “Wow..all this knowledge is so amazing!” So the question is, what do we do with it? The answer isn’t as difficult as we might think...we simply respond to Jesus! This week as we come to the end of Psalm 139 and our Radiant series, we will encounter some fresh words of wisdom that can help us lead a life that is spiritually fulfilled, full of God’s peace, and moving in the right direction. Don’t miss it!
We all have so many thoughts about what love really means. Is it the feeling of butterflies in your stomach? Is it something someone does for someone else? In conversation, we use the word "love" pretty loosely and interchangeably with other emotions. It can range from "I love pizza" to “I love my spouse." But what if God's definition of true love is far deeper than we ever imagined? Join us and learn more about the true meaning of love and why living by this Biblical understanding will dramatically change the way you approach and experience everyday life.
Much of our time is consumed with wondering about how others perceive us. It’s like the saying goes, “I spent my 20s wondering what others thought of me. I spent my 40s not caring what others thought of me. I spent my 60s realizing that others were not thinking about me at all.” What is fascinating is that as true as that may be for people, God is always thinking about us. And God’s thoughts are the only thoughts that matter. When we begin to contemplate the mind of God, we are astounded by what we find. Join us as we continue our series as we explore the thoughts of God.
We love hearing interviews from artists, movie producers, musicians and inventors. It's so interesting to find out the reasons they created their art - and it helps us understand what we're looking at and how it was intended to impact the world. In this message from Psalm 139 it is amazing to realize that God – the ultimate Artist – created us and He has a plan for each one of us. And the reality that we are all created in His image, his most prized possession, gives us confidence and makes our lives on earth more meaningful than ever before!
“Presence” changes the dynamics of a situation. A baby is born into a room. A grade school classroom is abuzz with wild noises and laughter and then the teacher walks in. A person is suffering in the emergency room and the doctor comes in and says, “I know what is happening with you, and we can help.” In the same way, God’s presence changes everything. He is intimately near to us, and knowing such an overwhelming truth – that we’re loved no matter what difficulty life throws our way and God is for us – makes all the difference in the world. In this message from Psalm 139, we will learn more about the incredible power of God’s presence.
The Christian life is a journey. It leads us from our first breath to eternal glory, and all of it involves God at every step...including how we view ourselves in light of who He truly is! Psalm 139 explores deep questions about God and shows us just what kind of an amazing reality awaits those who are willing to embark on this incredible adventure with Him. Join us for Radiant, a series exploring Psalm 139, as we learn together what it really looks like to live our lives with Jesus at the center!
Peter was chosen by Jesus to be a leader in the church but Peter had a lot to learn before he could lead well. But that’s what Jesus does! He calls us just as we are and then transforms us into the men and women He’s created us to be. It’s been said before that God doesn’t call the qualified but He qualifies the called. Peter would go on to follow Jesus and change the world in the process. God is still looking for men and women to simply follow Him as He builds His Church through them as His leaders. Everyone is leading someone! Let’s lean into Peter’s heart and seek to let Jesus use us for His glory and other's good!
