"If only I would have...." is a phrase we know all too well. Recognizing we only live once, how nice would it be to discover bite-size nuggets of wisdom that would guide us around or through life's pitfalls? Eccelsiastes 10-11 gives us the wisdom we all long for.

How many of you remember the song “We Are The World?” In 1985 “USA for Africa” recorded the song and raised over $60 million for people on the African continent. You only live once, and we are all human together, sharing the circumstances and struggles of humanity. How do we live in unity with people around us, and experience the incredible life that God designed us for? #YOLO.

As we continue our Holiness series in the book of Leviticus, we continue to see God’s love and concern for His people. God is not looking for us to compartmentalize our faith. Instead God wants our faith to be completely integrated into our daily lives. One area that has always been a struggle for humanity is the area of sexual relations. God has very specific ideas about what is and isn’t holy when it comes to expressions of human sexuality. This will be addressed in Leviticus 18.

One of the foundational realities of the finished work of Jesus is that the "life is in the blood". This concept has its roots in the Torah, the first five books of your Bible. Leviticus 17 is entirely about the blood laws and they have surprising implications for our Christian faith today.

Holiness is our third and final series in the book of Leviticus. God desires us to be holy as He is. This section begins with an astonishing reality, that by ourselves, we are not holy. There was one day each year that the Jewish people set apart to confess their unholiness to God and each other. There was a special sacrifice offered to forgive transgressions. That is the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur in Hebrew).

Known as the “Holiness Code,” this part of Scripture lists all the things the people of Israel should and should not do. Instead of focusing on the mind-blowing list of do's and do not's, this introduction to the Holiness section of Leviticus challenges the way we see the rules and regulations. They become a back-drop and set-design for the greatest Love Story ever told.
